NBA Betting Tips: Monday, 21st of March
Utah Jazz at New York Knicks
Madison Square Garden, 10:30am AEDT
The Jazz were in good form at the end of their four-game homestand, securing a big win over the Clippers last time out. That made it three wins from their last four games and it was the first time they’ve been able to record consecutive wins in March. The Jazz now have the fourth best record in the league at 44-26 and are just three games behind the Warriors in third.
The Knicks are trying their best to go on a winning run and elevate themselves into one of the Play-In slots in the East. They won an important meeting with the Wizards in their most recent outing, which made it back-to-back wins and five victories from their last seven games. As a result, the Knicks moved to within five games of the Hawks in 10th.
The Knicks need to win just about all of their remaining games if they’re to be a chance of a Play-In spot, which obviously means their intensity and focus levels will be high. They get a look at a Jazz team that has somewhat struggled on the road in recent games and I think they should be able to at least cover the spread in this one.

Boston Celtics at Denver Nuggets
Ball Arena, 11am AEDT
The Celtics have been in red-hot form over the last couple of months and haven’t lost consecutive games since the beginning of January. They were far too strong for the Warriors two starts back and destroyed the listless Kings in their most recent game. This impressive winning form has seen the Celtics improve to 43-28 on the season and come within four games of the #1 seed in the East.
The Nuggets have battled on admirably this season despite being without Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. for the most part. However, they haven’t been in the best of form over the last fortnight and enter this clash having lost three of their last five games. They lost a heartbreaker in overtime in their most recent game and are now in serious danger of falling outside the top six in the West.
The Celtics are clearly the form team in this matchup and are thoroughly deserving of being priced as the favourites in my opinion. Furthermore, they were too good for the Nuggets when they met in February and as long as they produce the same level of performance as they have in recent times, then they should be too strong once again.

San Antonio Spurs at Golden State Warriors
Chase Center, 11:30am AEDT
The Spurs were always going to struggle for consistency this season due to how young their roster currently is and that’s exactly how it’s played out. Two games back they recorded a good win over the struggling Thunder, but they backed that up with a horribly 33-point loss to the Pelicans. The Spurs remain a mathematic chance of making it to the Play-In tournament, but they can’t keep putting in these bad performances.
The Warriors entered their clash with the Celtics on a strong four-game win streak, but they were no match for the C’s as they went down cheaply by 22 points. Concerningly, Steph Curry was unable to complete the game due to an ankle injury and he won’t be playing on Monday. In positive news, Andrew Wiggins is set to return after a short layoff.
Despite being without superstar Steph Curry, the Warriors will start this clash with the Spurs as the overwhelming favourites. Interestingly, the season series is currently tied at one win apiece after both teams failed to defend home court in their first two meetings. Without Curry, there is every chance that happens once again and as a result, I’m happy to be on the Spurs to cover here.
