It’s a quality day of racing on Saturday and it’s starting to really feel like Autumn is upon us with some serious horse flesh returning to the track. The $2M Inglis Millenium and the Eskimo Prince Stakes headlines the card at Randwick while Caulfield will play host to a very strong meeting in their own right.
Billy Bestford has cast his eye across the meetings and has found his best racing tips to help you have a fill up this Saturday.

Randwick Race 1
I really think (5) Lady Laguna could be a pretty talented horse and she looks well placed in this race to make it three wins on the bounce to begin her career. She’s handled dry ground and heavy ground, bolting in at the most recent start. I think she can roll forward again here and be tough to catch. Should get a nice sit off the leaders and Jmac jumps on for the first time. Plenty of upside and the ability to match.
Caulfield Race 2
(11) Worthily ran a lot better than his finishing position shows first up. That was his first run in Australia and there was plenty to like about how he finished the race off. Very strong through the line and will only be suited now 2nd up rising to a more suitable trip. That was a reasonably strong rating race and I think he’ll enjoy the tempo of this one. Just sets up really nicely and I’m pretty keen that he breaks through.
Randwick Race 4
(3) Kallos should get a nice sit off the leaders here from barrier 1 and I think he’s a 3yo on the rise. Finished off last prep tackling the G1 Coolmore at Flemington but was probably a little outlcassed there. He goes well fresh and has trialled up nicely for this. Thinking he’s ready to take the leap into some strong races this time in and this bm94 looks a perfect starting point for him.
Randwick Race 8
With the majority of the forecasted rain not hitting too hard, I think (4) Paulele looks extremely hard to beat here. He’s a serious sprinter and there was talks of him gaining an Everest spot last year. Took it to Home Affairs last prep (Sp $3.50 there) and he absolutely loves racing here on the big Randwick track. Unbeaten in four runs and has two wins from three starts over 1200m. Maps for every favour in running and with even luck I think he should be kicking this prep off with a win.
Caulfield Race 9
No surprises here but (2) Tuvalu really should just be winning this, and winning it well. Deadset bolted in fresh and 2nd up last time in it took all the efforts of I’m Thunderstruck to knock him off. He’s a horse who looks to be group class and he is racing here in a pretty standard bm78. Looks well placed should be up on speed and you know exactly what you’ll get from him.
