We’ve got a massive day of racing all around the country today with quality meetings at Rosehill and Moonee Valley. The Autumn is quickly approaching and we are beginning to see some of the top line horses return to the track. The Golden Slipper also continues to take shape with many exciting 2yos going around again today.
Billy Bestford has cast his eye across the meetings and has found his best bets to help you have a fill up this Saturday.
Horse Racing Tips: Saturday, January 29th
Rosehill Race 3
(1) Ebhaar was impressive on debut when digging deep to score a good 1L win at Caulfield. Was quickly spelled following that run with the Autumn in mind and has trialled up really nicely leading into this run. She’s bred to be a star and all early signs are pointing to that. She looks hard to beat here.
Moonee Valley Race 3
(2) Stay Gold is absolutely airborne and you can’t knock the winning form she brings into this race. Gets a massive drop in the weights from last start and maps for a nice trail with Jamie Kah sticking to ride once again. Wet track shouldn’t pose a problem and this race doesn’t look overly strong.
Moonee Valley Race 6
If the track isn’t a complete bog then I like (2) Gentleman Roy here. Arguably should have won again last start when the jockey just went too slow on him up front. He loves to let rip and fly up in the lead and I’m thinking the stable will be giving those sorts of instructions today. Can’t knock any of what he has done this prep and he looks to go very close again. Doesn’t look to be too much speed on paper and should get this race run to suit.
Rosehill Race 7
No doubt Anamoe is the horse to beat here but I’ll be having something on (4) Forbidden Love who has trialled as good as you’ll see recently. Matched it with Nature Strip there and wasn’t really even asked for much so you can only imagine this horse is flying. Loves racing fresh, loves 1200m and will be a fair few lengths in front of Anamoe at the turn. Backing each-way.
(4) Forbidden Love (EW)
$8.00/$3.00
Rosehill Race 8
Hard to miss that first up run from (4) Yiyi when launching late over a trip well short of his best. Was very keen to follow him rising in trip and 1500m should be ideal at this point. Maps to be prominent enough in the running and gets a massive 5.5kg weight swing on Kingsheir who beat him home last start. Loves Rosehill and I think he will be just winning this.
