Week 16 in the NFL is underway but there is a massive slate of games on this Monday (AEDT). As always, our NFL guru Tom Kelly has you covered with his best bets of the week as well as betting tips for every game here.
Week 15 was a nice bounce back, going 11-5. That gives us three more weeks to get back to even on the season ledger, which sits at 107-117.
NFL Week 16 Betting Tips
Washington Football Team at Dallas Cowboys
AT & T Stadium, Monday 12:20pm AEDT
Washington (6-8) have lost their last two, both divisional games including one against the Cowboys. Despite an impressive 4 game win streak before that, their season is likely over at this point. Taylor Heinecke will be back this week, but Antonio Gibson may miss with his toe injury.
Dallas are 10-4, and have won their last 3 on the back of some impressive defensive play to go with their potent offense. They are still playing for the #1 seed int he NFC, so should have no reason to slow down despite almost having the NFC East title sewn up.
With the line looking about right, I’m favouring the home team with the superior quality & momentum to put on a show.
Miami Dolphins at New Orleans Saints
Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Tuesday 12:15pm AEDT
Amazingly, the 7-7 Dolphins have won 6 straight games and are still a chance to win the AFC East, especially if the Bills beat the Patriots this week. Duke Johnson emerged from a long slumber to dominate against the Jets last week, and Jaylen Waddle and Devante Parker are both good to go in this one. The defence, and in particular the secondary, continues to be the teams biggest strength.
The Saints are also 7-7, and carrying some momentum after beating the reigning Super Bowl champs in Week 15. However, they are down to their 4th string QB this week with rookie Ian Book stepping in for Taysom Hill. Other than Alvin Kamara and a strong DST, it’s hard to see how the Saints make an impact in this one.
I’m expecting the Dolphins to be superior on both sides of the ball and take a comfortable win on the road.
