NBA Betting Tips: Tuesday, 16th of November
Boston Celtics at Cleveland Cavaliers
Quicken Loans Arena, 11am AEDT
The Celtics inconsistency to start the season continued on the weekend when they defeating the defending champion Bucks on Friday, only to lose to the young Cavaliers on Saturday. Yet to win more than two games in a row, the Celtics have now slipped to 10th in the East with a 6-7 record. Dennis Schroder has been in fine form over the last week, but the same can’t be said about superstar Jayson Tatum who’s been out of sorts.
The Cavaliers have been a genuine surprise packet this season and only seem to be getting better with every game. After losing their opening two by double-digits against the Grizzlies and the Hornets, the Cavs have won nine of their last 12 and have climbed up into fourth spot in the East. Evan Mobley has made a terrific start to his career and will be right in the mix for ROTY if he continues along his current trajectory.
These two clubs will be suiting up to play against each other in Cleveland for the second time in three days. The Cavaliers took the honours in their meeting on Saturday when defeating the Celtics by two points despite trailing by 19 in the third quarter. The home side connected on just 10 of their 38 three-point attempts and still managed to jag the win, which is a tough pill to swallow for the visiting Celtics. Providing they shoot it at a better clip on Tuesday and bring their usual defensive intensity, we have the young Cavs getting the job done once again.

Orlando Magic at Atlanta Hawks
State Farm Arena, 11am AEDT
Fans of the Magic are going to have their patience tested quite a bit over the next couple of years as their team is only in the early stages of a rebuild. Wins have been few and far between this season with just three from 13 games, which is a trend we expect to continue for the foreseeable future. Second year man Cole Anthony has been one of the shining lights with average splits of 20/7/5 on decent percentages.
The Hawks finally put an end to their six-game losing streak with a big 20-point win over the Bucks on Monday. That game was the first of five in a row at home for the Hawks, which is more than welcome after playing nine of their first 13 on the road. The tough draw to start the season is part of the reason why the highly talented Hawks are 13th in the East with a 5-9 record.
Neither team would be overly happy with their results from the first couple of weeks of action, although the Hawks certainly have more excuses after having arguably the toughest schedule in the league. Now back at home where they’re 4-1 this campaign compared to 1-8 on the road, we have the Hawks securing a big win against the Magic to help kickstart their season.
Chicago Bulls at Los Angeles Lakers
Staples Center, 2:30pm AEDT
The Bulls rained on the Clippers parade at the Staples Center on Monday when putting an end to their seven-game winning streak. It was yet another big result for the surging Bulls who have made a bright start to their season despite having so many new pieces in their rotation. They enter Tuesday’s slate with nine wins from 13 games, four of which they’ve secured on their travels.
The Lakers have enjoyed some success on their current home stand with three wins from four games, with the first two of those requiring overtime. They’ve now reeled off wins in eight if their last 12 games to steady the ship after an 0-2 start. LeBron James remains sidelined with injury but Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook have done a solid job filling the void in his absence.
Both ball clubs come into this Tuesday afternoon matchup in winning form, but it’s the Bulls who have been the more impressive in our opinion. They’ve beaten three playoff teams from last season by double-digits in their last four games and as long as they bring a similar level of play to this one, then they’ll be getting the job done at Staples Center for the second night in a row.
