Horse Racing Tips - Wednesday, October 6th
Rosehill Race 1
(4) Dufresne couldn’t have gotten any closer to breaking through last start and he looks ready to win. They’ve backed him up this week so he is clearly going well and Jason Collett jumps aboard in some great form. Think the slight rise to 1500m should suit and this guy will be peak fitness now. The inside draw means he can enjoy run of the race stuff throughout and be too strong once the gaps present themselves.
Rosehill Race 2
This is going to be a good clash between a few smart up and comers. I’m siding with (3) Depiction who absolutely bolted in when first up this prep, taking care of maiden grade by 5L. That was his first start as a gelding and he ran strong time there so I think he might’ve come back a completely different horse now. Goes straight to a bm64 here and he’s got the ability to handle this rise in grade. Expect him to go to the lead from the wide draw and they might not catch him.
Sale Race 5
(4) The Gauch is a bulletproof horse and one of my favourites. He puts himself up near the speed and never shys away in the straight. Somehow was beaten last start at Caulfield over 1200m. I don’t mind the little drop back in trip to 1000m and he should be able to box seat in the run from gate 1. Has been a winner 3rd up in the past and deserves a win on the back of two good runs in strong Saturday company.
Sale Race 6
Think (8) Super Thief will be extremely hard to beat here off the back of a very good first up win. Was a dominant win at Swan Hill and looks ready to go on with it now. He’s a 3yo with a heap of upside, stable is going well at the moment and I think he can put himself up on speed and be too strong in what looks a pretty weak bm64. Probably be able to get the back of key rival Duty Dynasty in the run and follow him wherever he goes.
Rosehill Race 8
Looking forward to seeing (3) April Rain back at the races today and she looks a big chance of winning here fresh. Yet to miss the quinella from three first up runs and the trial leading into this was a pass mark. She started very fancied favourite in both run last prep and wasn’t beaten far in either. She’s clearly got talent and I’m hoping we get to see the best of her this prep. Barrier 1 means McDonald can be a touch positive on her maybe? And if she has any luck I think she will be too good for this lot.
