2024 AFL Round 9 Tips
Thursday May 9th
Footy fans are treated with a Carlton vs Melbourne blockbuster to begin Round 9 on Thursday night. The Blues are coming off a tough loss against the Magpies, while the Demons are flying high after toppling the Cats!
Friday May 10th
The Cats suffered their first loss of the season last weekend against the Demons and now front up against the dangerous Power. However, the Cats are back home at the Cattery and are heavy favourites to secure another win.
The Dockers were excellent in their big win against the Tigers last weekend but now face a much tougher test against the Swans. It's been priced as a near 50-50 matchup by the bookies and should go right down to the wire.
Saturday May 11th
The Hawks secured win #2 for the season last weekend when they got the better of the lacklustre Dogs. They now head down to Tassie where they'll fancy their chances to make it two on the spin when they play host to the Saints.
Second up on Super Saturday will see arguably the match of the round play out, with the Bombers and the Giants locking horns at Marvel. It should be a high-scoring and highly-entertaining affair under the roof.
The Tigers are set to get some troops back this week which will give them a genuine chance to knock over the vulnerable Bulldogs. There's plenty of intrigue surrounding this fixture, particularly if the Dogs can't bounce back.
The Suns put in a lifeless performance in the QClash and will likely make a whole host of changes to their lineup for Round 9. It's now their turn to seemingly get the easy kill when they host the Kangaroos.
Sunday May 12th
The Magpies are on the march and will now face one of their modern day rivals in the Eagles. There are a couple of key outs for both clubs and it'll be interesting to see how they lineup in the first of two Sunday games.
To conclude the round we have what should be a highly competitive clash between the Crows and the Lions in Adelaide. Both outfits are coming off season-building wins and will be looking to continue to build momentum.
