NBA Betting Tips: Tuesday, 13th of April
Los Angeles Lakers at New York Knicks
Madison Square Garden, 9:30am AEST
Los Angeles Lakers have been without their superstar tandem of LeBron James and Anthony Davis for a number of weeks now and the losses are starting to pile up. Their role players have done a bit of a better job of late, but they’ve still slipped down to fifth in the West standings.
New York Knicks come into this off a gritty win against the Raptors to make it back-to-back wins on this current homestand. It’s been an important week so far for the Knicks as they had lost five of their last six games leading in.
There’s no doubt the Lakers would be far too strong in this matchup if both teams were at full strength, but that definitely isn’t the case so we have to give the edge to the Knicks at home here. They’ve proven a difficult team to beat this season and will fancy their chances to make it three wins on the spin.
RJ Barrett has had a rollercoaster Sophomore season in the league but he’s enjoying one of his highs at the moment. He’s put up 20+ points in seven of his past 11 games and is great odds to continue along that trend on Tuesday.
Prop: Barrett 20+ Points ($2.30)
New York Knicks -1.5

San Antonio Spurs at Orlando Magic
Amway Center, 10am AEST
San Antonio Spurs have been in horrible form over the last couple of weeks but managed to secure a big upset on Monday against the Mavericks that could turn momentum into their favour. It was a win that puts them just one game below .500 and keeps them right in the mix for a playoff berth.
Orlando Magic went into full rebuild mode when they traded away arguably their three best players before the trade deadline. They’re now purely focussing on getting reps into their younger guys and there will and has been plenty of learning curves along the way, including a 37-point shellacking against the Bucks on Monday.
As mentioned above, the Spurs haven’t been in great form recently, but they certainly won’t have to be at their absolute best to get the chocolates against this Magic outfit. As long as they bring a solid effort, then they should be winning this one without too much resistance.
San Antonio Spurs -6.5

Chicago Bulls at Memphis Grizzlies
FedExForum, 11am AEST
Chicago Bulls made the interesting move of acquiring Nikola Vucevic before the trade deadline and while he’s fit in well to date, it hasn’t necessarily resulted in more wins. They’re still outside the playoff picture looking in and might have to fight their way through the play-in games if they’re to feature in the post-season.
Memphis Grizzlies had their four-game winning streak snapped in overtime against the Knicks on Saturday before the Pacers compounded their hurt with another defeat on Monday. Despite those recent defeats, it’s been another grind-it-out season for this impressive basketball organisation.
Both teams will be fighting for a playoff berth in their respective conferences to the death and both teams are coming off back-to-back losses, which makes this an incredibly important game. For us, the Grizzlies should be the much shorter favorites to bounce back as they’re at home and have been the more consistent team over the course of this unusual season.
While we do give the edge to the Grizzlies, we also can appreciate the current form of Zach LaVine who backed up his 50-point night with a 30-point outing on Monday. He’s taken 31 and 28 shots in those games respectively and providing he puts up another 20+ shots, we really like his chances to score 30+ points at nearly $3 odds.
Prop: LaVine O30+ Points ($2.75)
Memphis Grizzlies -2.5
