The NBA regular season continues on Thursday with a nine-game slate beginning at 9am AEST. We’re coming off a bit of a disappointing day on Tuesday where we went 2/5, so we’re looking to bounce back in a big way with some great plays on this fantastic Thursday slate!
NBA Betting Tips: Thursday, 8th of April
Memphis Grizzlies at Atlanta Hawks
State Farm Arena, 10am AEST
Memphis Grizzlies are on a hot run at the moment with wins in each of their last three games as well as seven of their last 10. Most impressive has been their recent two wins on the road against some quality Eastern Conference sides in the Heat and the 76ers.
Atlanta Hawks have had to deal with a whole host of injury problems throughout their campaign, but have done well enough to stay relevant in the East. They’re in some good form with wins in each of their last four games, two of which were blowouts.
Both teams boast solid winning streaks heading into this clash, but the injuries are starting to pile up for the Hawks so we have to lean towards the Grizzlies here. They’ve been fantastic on their current road trip and should be in this game up to their eyeballs.
The standout player prop market in this game is Bogdan Bogdanovic to eclipse his points overs. He’s getting all the minutes he can handle as a result of the Hawks increasing injury list and he’s certainly making the most of it. Bogey has put up 20+ points in four of his past five games and should be able to gobble up his 15.5 line here.
Prop: Bogdanovic O15.5 Points ($1.91)

San Antonio Spurs at Denver Nuggets
Pepsi Center, 11am AEST
San Antonio Spurs are in the worst form they’ve been in all season and it’s seen them fall out of the playoff picture as it currently stands. They’ve lost three on the spin and eight of their past 10 and of lot of those losses have come down to how bad they’ve been on the defensive end, giving up a whopping 130+ points in four of their past six losses.
Denver Nuggets have hit their straps of late with six straight wins and only three losses from their past 18 games. It took them a while to get going but they now look as though they’ll be just as big a threat in the playoffs as they were in their historic run last campaign.
The Nuggets are clearly the better team and are in by far the better form in this matchup, which makes this an easy selection for us. At home and coming off six straight wins, we’re more than. Happy to be on the Nuggets to cover the relatively small spread here.

Utah Jazz at Phoenix Suns
PHX Arena, 12pm AEST
Utah Jazz had their nine-game winning streak snapped when they went down to the Mavericks by eight points last time out. That loss was a bit of a surprise to many, but that probably shouldn’t have been the case considering the Jazz had lost six of their past 11 road games coming in.
Phoenix Suns survived a late scare against the lowly Rockets in their most recent outing, taking them down by three points to secure their sixth consecutive win. The Suns have just been in blistering form over the past couple of months, holding the best record in the league since January.
What a juicy matchup we have on our hands here between the teams with the two best records in the NBA. They’re incredibly hard to split in the H2H market and we certainly won’t be going there; however, we do see some value in taking the ‘unders’ in the total points market. Both clubs are ranked in the top 5 or 10 in nearly all defensive categories, which will lead to a cagey affair just like when they met earlier this season when there were just 201 points scored. Expect something similar this time around.
With a low-scoring game seemingly on the cards, this opens up the opportunity to also take the ‘unders’ on some of the player props. The market we like the most here is DeAndre Ayton’s points ‘unders’. He managed just four points last time he matched up with Rudy Gobert and will likely be right down the pecking order on offence again here. We foresee a tough night for the former #1 pick.
Prop: Ayton U25.5 PRA ($1.87)
