NBA Betting Tips: Tuesday, 6th of April
Sacramento Kings at Minnesota Timberwolves
Target Center, 9am AEST
Sacramento Kings had their five-game winning streak snapped by the Spurs a week ago and it’s been followed by two more losses against the Lakers and the Bucks. After such a promising run, the Kings playoffs hopes are beginning to slip away very quickly.
Minnesota Timberwolves have managed to jag a win every now and then but haven’t won back-to-back games since their opening two games of the season. On a positive note, D’Angelo Russell is back in full practice and is eyeing off a return in the not so distance future.
These teams are yet to play each other this season and will meet another couple of times after this. Realistically, this should be an easy kill for the Kings regardless of the average form they’re in. Back them into cover the small spread on the road.
This should certainly be a high-scoring game as both teams like to push the ball in transition and put up plenty of shots. One player that has been struggling a bit of late and will see this as a perfect opportunity to find some rhythm against a sub-par defence is Buddy Hield. He’s shown the ability time and time again to have big nights once he sees the ball go through the ring early and this has high potential to be one of those nights.
Prop: Hield O17.5 Points ($1.94)
Sacramento Kings -2.5

Utah Jazz at Dallas Mavericks
American Airlines Center, 9am AEST
Utah Jazz come into this in some fantastic form having won nine straight games, five of which have been by double-figures. This is already the third time this season the Jazz have gone on streaks of 9+ wins, which is why they sit clear on top of the Western Conference standings.
Dallas Mavericks are in some good form themselves with wins in each of their last four games. Most impressive about their recent stretch has been their intensity and execution on the defensive end, which has seen them conceded a touch under 97 points a game over the past four.
The Jazz have been the best team all season and had the better of the Mavericks when they met earlier this year; however, they hit the road for this one where they’ve lost six of their past 11 games, which we believe the bookies haven’t accounted for. With that said, we’re happy to be with the Mavs to cover the generous spread.

Phoenix Suns at Houston Rockets
Toyota Center, 10am AEST
Phoenix Suns continue to impress this season and find themselves on another five-game winning streak, which is their third such streak this campaign. They were absolutely blistering in the first quarter against the Thunder last time out, opening up a 30-point lead at quarter time to break a franchise record.
Houston Rockets are on a historic run and it certainly isn’t for the right reason. They’ve lost four in a row and an amazing 26 of their past 28 games, more than half of which have been by double-figures. It’s certainly going to be a long road back to contention for the Rockets in the years to come.
The Suns overcame the Rockets by six points when they met in January, but that was when the Rockets weren’t a basket case yet. On current form, we have the Suns doing a real number on them this time around and wouldn’t be surprised if this is a 20+ point win.
For a player prop bet here we’re looking at taking some of Suns points ‘unders’ as we don’t expect them to be playing big minutes if it is indeed a blowout. The most obvious play here is Chris Paul U16.5 points, as he usually only takes a high volume of shots when his team really needs him to step up as a scorer. He averaged just 14.9 points in the month of March and will need to be super-efficient to score 17+ in this one.
Prop: Paul U16.5 Points ($1.79)
