AFL Gold Coast vs North Melbourne Betting Tips
Metricon Stadium, Saturday 27th March 8:10pm AEDT
It’s probably not going to be the most anticipated match of the round but it still holds a lot of importance for both these teams. Sitting 17th and 18th on the ladder respectively after round 1 means there will be desperation to show big improvement from both sides here tonight.
Match Prediction
Going off the opening round it was clear that the Kangaroos might be in for a long season after being beaten by 52 points against a rampant Port Adelaide side. The Kangaroos just struggled to get anything going through the middle and in turn their forwards didn’t get many good looks at goal.
The Suns matched it with West Coast in Perth for 3 quarters and looked a winning chance at half time. They struggled to keep it close in the final quarter however and the score probably wasn’t a fair reflection on the performance as a whole. They lost Matt Rowell again to injury which is dissapointing for both him and the club but the signs were good even after Rowell left the field. Young gun Jack Dowes was super impressive with 30 touches while David Swallow was his usual consistent self with 29 of his own.
I think the Suns looked much better overall than North Melbourne in the opening round and I am expecting them to bounce back with a win here at home tonight. North Melbourne struggled at both ends of the field and they missed their big man Ben Brown up front who has obviously moved to the Demons. The Roos have now lost nine straight matches carrying over from last season and there just doesn’t seem to be any improvement from them this year either.
If the Suns show up and put in a performance similar to the first three quarters against West Coast then they will be winning this match comfortably. You do expect North Melbourne to be fired up after that opening round so I wouldn’t be surprised if they do put up a reasonable fight.

I mentioned Jack Bowes earlier and he was a shining light in that opening game against West Coast. Took over the midfield once Matt Rowell left the field and was looking for the ball non stop - and found plenty of it. Think he can continue to shine and only build on that performance while Rowell is out and looks a sneaky play to rack up another 30+ game.

Kangaroos Prop Bet
Think Jack Ziebell can continue to lead the way for the Roos and rack up a plenty of possessions here tonight. Finished with 25 last week and will only take improvement from that. He’s going to need to play a big part in this match if the Roos are any chance of coming out on top in this one.
