NBA Betting Tips: Thursday, 11th of February
Atlanta Hawks at Dallas Mavericks
American Airlines Center, 11:30am AEDT
Atlanta Hawks have been a hard team to get a read on this season with their inconsistent form. They certainly have enough talent on their roster, but a couple of key injuries to their wing players will certainly hurt them. They come into this game at 11-12 and seventh in the Eastern Conference.
Dallas Mavericks had a sloppy start to their season but have come on strong over the past week or so with three wins from their past four games. Luka Doncic has been firing all season and they’re finally getting to see the best from Kristaps Porzingis after an injury-riddled start to his campaign. The Mavericks are now 11-14 and are moving up the seeds in the West.
Both teams have had inconsistent starts to their season and will be hoping for some better results in the coming months. Without DeAndre Hunter (injured), we do expect the Hawks to struggle a bit as he’s so good on both ends of the floor. With the Mavs building and making winning a habit, we have them taking care of home court in this one.
Our player of focus again for the Mavericks is Kristaps Porzingis. We were on him on Tuesday and he didn’t disappoint with his 27 points and we’re expecting more of the same this time around.
Prop: Porzingis O21.5 Points ($1.89)
Indiana Pacers at Brooklyn Nets
Barclays Center, 12pm AEDT
Indiana Pacers have lost three on the spin coming into this matchup, but all three have been against tough opposition. They’ve had plenty of injury problems to key players during this early part of the season, but have two guys in Malcolm Brogdon and Domantas Sabonis who have kept them ticking. The Pacers are now an even 12-12 and will be looking to build.
Brooklyn Nets have been box office all season, especially since James Harden came over from the Rockets. They certainly haven’t lived up to expectations so far and life will be even tougher will Kevin Durant out for another couple of games. The Nets are 14-12 and sit third in the Eastern Conference.
The Pacers haven’t been in the best of form but they come up against a Nets outfit that has given up 120+ points in 11 of their past 12 games. The Pacers have the firepower to keep that trend going and without Durant on the court, we have them getting the road win against the Nets on the second night of a back-to-back.
The Nets lack interior defence, particularly with Durant out, which opens up the opportunity for All-Star Domantas Sabonis to have another big night. He’s a double-double machine and should be putting up big numbers again here.
Prop: Sabonis O38.5 PRA ($1.81)
Indiana Pacers +2.5

Cleveland Cavaliers at Denver Nuggets
Pepsi Center, 1pm AEDT
Cleveland Cavaliers have exceeded expectations early in the season and remain a dangerous proposition for any team on any given night. Last time out they were unlucky losers against the Suns, which made it four losses on the spin against good Western Conference teams. Now at 10-15, the Cavaliers will be looking to regain some momentum.
Denver Nuggets made that huge run in the playoffs last season but are yet to live up to those loft heights so far this season. Nikola Jokic is certainly doing his part with MVP type numbers, but Jamal Murray has a lot of improvement left in him. The Nuggets come into this game placed seventh in the Western Conference at 12-11.
Both teams are on losing streaks coming into this matchup, which makes for an interesting affair in Denver. The Nuggets are clearly the better of the two clubs, but on recent form we simply can’t justify the big 9.5 point line. We’ll be back the Cavs to keep this one close and potentially cause a boil over.
Darius Garland was off to a flier in his Sophomore season before injury struck. It took a couple of games for him to get back to form, but he’s now firing again and should be good to cover a generous PRA line in this one.
Prop: Garland O22.5 PRA ($1.80)
Cleveland Cavaliers +9.5
