The Valley will host Friday night racing again with the first of eight starting at 6:15pm (AEDT). A lovely summer night is predicted on the last day of the season and I have found three key plays on the night. The track is rated Good and the first few races are key to see if The Valley is leader bias for the card. Race one looks hard to bet on with only the six runners, so we will leave that be but the Middle Distance Series Heats continue and my best bets are below!

Moonee Valley Racing Tips: Friday, February 28th 2025
Race 2: The Orbit Logistics Handicap - 6:45pm (AEDT)
(3) Time Lapse has drawn a touch wide in 8 but the Moody & Coleman gelding will come across anyway and push for the pilot position. He had barrier 1 here last start when 2nd to Documentary after leading. He seems to like the track and this being his third start over 1200m this prep, he should be ready to go. Blake Shinn is riding again and it has only been three weeks since he won at Pakenham on a Good track over this journey.
(8) Let’s Trot likes Dry tracks and was only beaten a head last start at Pakenham. He has drawn the inside and should get a gun run.
(4) Bay of Zea goes well second up and he will also push forward so there may be a bit of pace about here. A Good track suits.
(3) Time Lapse WIN
$2.00 (3 Units)
Race 4: Western General Bodyworks Handicap - 7:45pm (AEDT)
(1) Junebug has drawn the poll and he has had inside barriers when winning her last two races. She is going for three on the bounce and the consistent mare likes Dry ground. This is harder and this is a big rise in distance but the Neasham & Archibald mare looks strong and has already had admirers since markets opened.
(5) Expetee ran on well from this track from midfield last start. She is consistent and gets a 1kg weight drop for this. The Valley looks like it’s the track for him.
(9) Think I’m Famous loves Dry tracks and is a last start winner but this is a big class rise for this Nigel Blakiston mare. Good win at Kyneton last start.
(1) Junebug WIN
$3.70 (1 Unit)
Race 8: The Orbit Logistics Valley Summer Series Sprint - 9:45pm (AEDT)
(6) Khadime has won over the 1200m before and her first up form is good. The Dem Sutton filly will settle on speed and if she isn’t slow out this time, she should be in this for a long way. She will get back and despite not having won in almost a year, this is easier than some of her runs in the Spring. Billy Egan rides and a win seems near.
(7) My Angel Shell won at Terang two weeks ago and before that she was beaten a neck at Horsham. In form and despite the wide barrier, is a good chance.
(4) Captain Link is fit and has the blinkers on for this. Ran on well for 2nd at Pakenham last time and this race looks more suitable. Group 1 Harry Coffey is on for the first time.
(6) Khadime Each-Way
$4.60/$1.70 (1U/2U)
