Horse Racing Tips: Wednesday, October 13th
Warwick Farm Race 1
She’s extremely short but (6) Espiona will just be winning this on debut. Her trials have been very impressive and looks a serious horse for Waller. Jmac goes straight on today and I think barring any big dramas, she’ll be too good for these and can go onto some bigger and better races. Looks a good anchor leg for any multis throughout the day.
Caulfield Race 3
(9) Alcyone looks a good bet here and has been in good form this prep. Won well fresh before running 2nd to Mr Brightside who is a winning machine and has since won well again. He draws perfectly in barrier 5 and I’m keen to see him stretch out to 2000m for the first time. Many of his main rivals here have been struggling to win and I just think he might still have some upside getting out to this sort of trip.
Warwick Farm Race 3
(2) Jerle looks ready to win now 3rd up following a good run last start, making up plenty of ground in the straight. He’s on the quick backup from last week so is clearly going well. He draws wider for McDonald which should suit as he’s a horse who needs room to wind up. Expect he can be too strong for these late in the piece.
Warwick Farm Race 6
Looking forward to seeing (4) Daralina Belle come to town after three on the bounce. She rounded out last prep with a 4L romp and has since been wound up with a 7L trial win. Looks a very exciting horse for Matt Smith and this is the beginning of her quest towards the Four Pillars race in a few weeks time. She’ll be able to possie up nicely on the back of the speed and with even luck she will be winning.
Caulfield Race 7
The feature race of the day sees the 3yos do battle in the group 1 Thousand Guineas. I think (2) Hinged looks a very good winning chance here following a barnstorming 2nd in the Flight Stakes in Sydney two weeks ago. Looks to have now found her feet under Waller and she is just a winner. Missed the quinella just once in eight career starts and she maps for a nice run if Frosty can slot her in early. That Sydney G1 form looks pretty strong coming down here to a race like this and I’m confident she will run extremely well.
