Another Wednesday means some strong midweek racing to get us through the week, There’s meetings at Newcastle and Sandown where we can hopefully find a few winners.
Billy Bestford has had a look across the meetings and has found his best bets for the day.
Horse Racing Tips: Wednesday, January 19th
Newcastle Race 3
(5) Jawaani has been in and out of work for a while but finally debuts today and looks a good winning chance. Trials have been good without being outstanding but I don't think she will have to be a superstar to be winning this. Sets up nicely from the draw and think she will win her fair share of races.
Newcastle Race 4
(1) Celtic Harp has plenty of race experience and should be nearing peak fitness now 3rd up and rising to 1400 looks ideal for him. The stable have booked Berry on him over a couple of the stablemates which might be a good lead and he looks ready to win now.
Sandown Race 4
(1) Green Belt ran some seriously impressive time on debut and there looks to be a heap of upside with this horse. Was well backed on the day and romped in by 3.5L. Jamie Kah sticks for the ride and while he is getting up in the weights, looks well placed to take the next step in his career.
Sandown Race 7
(6) Logan Street Lion was a sick watch first up when only getting clear late and flew to only just miss. Is only lightly raced and clearly has upside while he should see a gun run from barrier 4. Once again is going to need the gaps to come at the right time but I’m banking on the fact they will and he should be winning when they do.
(6) Logan Street Lion
$3.40
Newcastle Race 7
If the rain doesn't hit too hard, (7) Tycoon Hallie looks the best on a tough card. She took some winding up in the straight fresh but ran on very well and was strong through the line which tells me she will eat up this trip now. Will get back anyway so wide gate isn't a concern and she looks ready to win - providing the track isn't too wet.
