Horse Racing Tips: Tuesday, June 16th
Ballarat Synthetic Race 5 - (Market)
The Snowden’s prepare the 2YO colt (9) Harlem Blues, he was sent to the paddock following his average debut and resumed two weeks ago. He was at Pakenham and having his first go on a synthetic track, he was beaten just over 3 lengths but his run was full of merit. He was stuck three and four-wide without cover back in the field and over-racing. He improved to the turn and although he was well beaten, he was very green and was ok through the line. He comes back in trip which may suit him as he can roll forward and not pull in the run. He should have taken plenty from that fresh run.
Ballarat Synthetic Race 6 - (Market)
(5) Elderflower is going to start a short-priced favourite in this, although he deserves that spot in te betting order I am happy to go looking elsewhere. (9) Miss Smarty Pants was not officially first-up two starts ago but was coming off a 7-week break, she had a soft run in transit and ran through the line to score in easier grade. She maps to get a similar run here behind the leader, with so many of them having their first go on the synthetic, that easy run on the rails could be the difference. 1000m, I doubt many of these will be making up a lot of ground and she looks a good each-way bet at the big odds.

Tamworth Race 1 - (Market)
The bookies will tell us it looks a race in two, happy to be with (11) Married To The Mob against the older horses. The 2YO son of Foxwedge has had three career starts, the only placing he had was on debut behind the impressive Rothfire albeit beaten a long way. He resumed at Scone on a good track and after settling up on the speed, drove to the front approaching the straight and although he was run down and well beaten, it was a hot race on paper. The winner has come out and won a BM70 in town, the second horse has won a Dubbo maiden and the third horse has won a Cessnock maiden since. All in all there have been 5 winners come through that Scone maiden. The blinkers are off for the first time and the key looks to be that he is drawn inside the obvious danger (10) Vinaigrette. If he can punch through and get the tactical advantage over the older filly, I can’t see her running past him.

Tamworth Race 2 - (Market)
(6) Scorched Land has only been to the races twice, he resumed at Tamworth at double figure odds over the shorter 1000m trip. He settled last and off the fence, eased wide and passed half the field to finish 4 lengths from the winner. The form out of the race has been good with 2 winners coming from it, including the first past the post that went on to win again at Muswellbrook the next start. He should be able to settle closer from the good draw and looks suited getting out to the 6 furlongs, taking on the older horses should be no issue. Back him each-way if that’s your go, he should be hitting the line hard.
