Horse Racing Tips: Thursday, June 25th
Kembla Grange Race 4 - (Market)
(10) Triksana is a 3YO filly from the Gai/Bott yard that is only having her third career start. She was huge odds on debut and sat outside the speed but did very little in the run home and was sent straight to the paddock. She was off the scene for 36 weeks, was given four trials in two stints, the latest two during March at her home track at Randwick. She resumed at Goulburn going straight to the mile on a soft track, she was easy in the betting but led for a long way but was run down late. She goes out to the 2000m for the first time which looks to suit, she should be able to control in front and there are certainly no stars chasing.
Kembla Grange Race 6 - (Market)
(8) Oaksastar is first-up today for the Snowden’s with the winkers off for the first time. She won her maiden at Muswellbrook when fresh last campaign by a big margin off a gun ride, she then placed in back-to-back races at Bathurst and Hawkesbury before going to the paddock. She has trialed well enough against much better horses recently, she may find them a bit sharp early over the 1200m, but if the apprentice can ger her settled behind the leader or three pairs back, she should get a soft run and be one of the first ones to present at the top of the straight. Looks a great each-way bet at the likely double figure odds.
Moe Race 2 - (Market)
I was keen on (13) Sippity Sup this time last week when she was scratched from Seymour, here is what I though then... Wendy Kelly trained (13) Sippity Sup at her first start at Mornington back in the late Spring where she put in a solid effort behind a couple of smart ones. She was sent to the paddock and has since been transferred to the Waller yard and has had three jump-outs to prepare for this fresh run. The latest of those was at Caulfield, a replay of which you can find here. She jumped well and sat wide throughout at the tail of the field, over-racing a little. She was produced four and five wide approaching the straight and ran on very well through the line, I would say the best of the bunch. Willow and Waller combining, with the beautiful long run to the first turn there should be no excuses..... Obviously no Willow here but it does look an easier assignment, confidence will grow if the money comes.
Moe Race 8 - (Market)
(6) The Executioner doesn’t win out of turn, in fact he is yet to win out of maiden grade and this is start number 16. The son of More Than Ready has had three runs this prep, placing at Sale fresh then was very plain at Cranbourne second-up. He went to Seymour a week ago and was held-up at a vital stage, got clear before the furlong pole and ran on hard into second, just missing with a big gap to third. He probably should have won the race and like the fact he is on the quick back-up. He handles the going and should be storming home late, just needs to get to the outside to avoid the traffic issues!
