Coffs Harbour Race 4
(9) Dazzling Charm will find this harder but looks up to it after a good maiden win last start. She debuted at Grafton back in early November, ran on well into second in what has proved a good form reference. She then had 6 weeks off before going to Lismore in an easier maiden last time. She was well back in the run before getting a good cart into the race three-wide with cover. She angled wide in the straight and was too good in the run home. Although the margin wasn’t big, she always looked like winning. The only horse in the top 6 that day to have raced again has come out and won its maiden since. She draws well in four and gets out an extra 100m in trip, just needs to be saved for one run.
Sale Race 1
Only a small field but I think (3) Kimberley Spirit should have plenty of improvement off what we saw at her debut and at her debut and can run a race at double figure odds. Her first go at the races was at her home track of Mornington over 1000m, there was some support for her late at big odds. She was fairly away before getting fired-up early settling just worse than mid-field. She angled clear and got very wide on the turn and although she didn’t shirk the task, she was well beaten. She gets a couple of gear changes to day and gets out in trip, hopefully ridden for luck off the inside gate, expect a lot of improvement in what looks an even race.

Sunshine Coast Race 2
(5) Domo has only been to the races twice and gets out to the mile for the first time second-up. She resumed on the smaller track at Toowoomba over 1300m just into double figure odds. She was in the back half on the rails before angling off the fence and although she never looked like winning the race, she hit the line well suggesting getting out to the mile should be ideal.
Nowra Race 2
(1) Major Time has not finished further back than second at three starts this prep. He resumed at Wagga and although he stuck on well enough into second, he did have every chance. He then went to Canberra, got a good run and loomed up to win but just found one better. Last start, also at Canberra, he went forward again and sat outside the speed, it was a lovely ride where he went for home at the top of the straight and was too good for them after being heavily backed. He gets some good weight relief with the 3kg claim and you know he will push forward and make his own luck. (3) Nostre Re is an interesting runner that will start near the top of the market, he won on debut and was ok at two runs since before going to the paddock. He has been off the scene for more than 6 months and comes to a new trainer for the first time. He was a recent trial winner in town but happy to take him on, he was pushed right out and only got there with the right bob of the head late.
