Horse Racing Tips: Saturday, May 7th
Caulfield Race 5
(3) It’sourtime finds a lovely race here second up, after a very encouraging return behind the smart Extreme Warrior in the Bel Esprit Stakes. He was beaten 0.1L second up last prep and with even luck today, he should be fighting out the finish.
Caulfield Race 6
(2) Clemenceau has been backed as if unbeatable here and the price has come in significantly. He’s won four of his five career starts and resumed with a dominant win last start over 1100m here at Caulfield. He looks the good thing of the day and the banker in multis Australia-wide.
Gosford Race 5
(5) Military Mission has to lump the full 61kg here but there’s plenty to like about his form. He bolted in at Canterbury two starts ago, defeating Main Stage who has since won its next two. He then went to Hawkesbury over 2100m and raced away to score by 2.5L again. Is loving the wet tracks and will go forward from the wide gate and take plenty of beating.
(5) Military Mission
$4.40
Gosford Race 7
(6) Pappalino looks a roughie worth backing each way here. The former French gelding was beaten 10L first up when 4th at Randwick, but he had to come from last on a day that favoured those up the front. He has a great second up record with three wins from five starts and he loves the wet tracks. Should be able to run a race here at $15.
