Horse Racing Tips: Monday, March 16th
Scone Race 1 - (Market)
(4) Delchuzy had been racing consistently this prep without winning, that was prior to what we saw at Tamworth last start. She was a drifter in the betting in a Class 3 eventually starting double figure odds. She showed much more intent and led, ran them off their feet over the mile and won by almost 5 lengths! That was on a soft track as we have here today, there does appear to be some speed out wide but hopefully they ride her with the same intent here and run them along throughout.
Scone Race 5 - (Market)
(2) Katgully Red doesn’t win out of turn and has been up for a long time, but I like the way he has finished off his last two races. Although he is drawn wide, there appears to be plenty of speed in the race and he will get back as he has been doing. Two starts ago at Scone in a tougher race he was well backed from double figures in, trapped wide and near last he attacked the line well to get within a half-length. He then went to Mudgee, again was well back in the run and ran on well to just miss the placings. Back on the big track here and with the speed on, he can finish over the top. With his pattern of racing he may be a drifter in the betting so I advise to wait until late to hit the submit bet button.
Moruya Race 2 - (Market)
(1) Blaazay is a first starter that has been to the official trials once only earlier this month. He was well away and quickly assumed control, scouted wide coming around the turn, and after being given a couple with eth persuader, responded well and was an easy winner through the line. A replay of the barrier trial can be found here. He is drawn out but should roll forward, he looks to have more upside than others that have been tried and failed. I would like to see some late money though for the confidence to build.
Moruya Race 4 - (Market)
The Price yard look to hold the key here with what should be the top two in the market, (1) Beaurama and (12) Show Tickets. I am sticking with the latter as the on top pick, a 3YO Filly taking on the older horses. She has had three runs back this campaign, she led and got run down when resuming and then had to sit outside the leader but faded late second-up. She then went to Kembla last start in a harder maiden for the girls, she over-raced early and set up a big lead mid-race over this trip. She was headed inside the furlong by a smart winner but battled away well to hang on for third. Back in an easier maiden and with the wide draw, she should be gunning for the front and will be ahrd to run down.
