Hawkesbury will see the likes of Joao Moreira, Tom Marquand and James McDonald compete on Wednesday which should give a more competitive feel than is typical of a Wednesday NSW metro meeting. The track is sure to be wet after plenty of rain in Sydney so consider that if you’re looking into the form guide.

Hawkesbury Racing Tips – Wednesday, April 5th
Race 2
(2) Beautiful Heart will race from gate 1 on Wednesday with Joao Moreira riding fresh off a double at Randwick on day one of The Championships. The filly by Snitzel handles wet tracks and has seemingly been targeted towards those conditions so far in her short career. Was 2nd last time to Fall For Cindy who went around on Saturday and is sure to have her chance.
(5) Commando Jack went well enough last time from an inside draw to warrant some interest again this time. Last attempt was an improvement which came on a wet track so it may be the conditions this horse has been looking for.
(1) Whatadilemma will lead this race from a wide gate which could play a significant role in his performance on a potentially bottomless Hawkesbury track.
(2) Beautiful Heart - WIN
$3.50 (2 Units)
Race 5
(5) Pungo is a progressive 3yo working through the grades. Joao Moreira is aboard here from a nice gate and although the horse couldn’t catch Bitcoin Baby last time, he’ll be up near the pace this time and have every possible chance to get back to winning ways.
(3) Pretty Amazing is the obvious danger having scorched the track last time closing off very strongly to just miss behind tearaway leader Luvoir. Will be spotting them a start again but might be able to catch them with an extra 50m this time.
(8) Flower Moon has never lost on heavy tracks. She’s the epitome of a wet-tracker and will love the conditions on Wednesday under Tom Marquand. Her last performance on a dry track was full of merit and she’s sure to improve this time around.
(5) Pungo - WIN
$3.50 (2 Units)
Race 6
*SCRATCHED* (2) Rediener rounds out 3 Joao Moreira runners selected here which is purely by coincidence. This Redoute’s Choice 3yo is drawn wide here but is a capable horse and closed well last time when 1st up.
(3) Olentia was only 1.8L off the winner in the Magic Millions Rising Stars last start. Trialled well since and can win this race but is quite short.
(16) Sandpaper is big odds here and should shorten prior to the race. Zac Lloyd is in great form and takes 2kg off the horse who is by Snitzel and should handle the wet conditions.
(2) Rediener - Each Way
