Happy Valley tonight presents a few interesting runners, one of which was blackbooked out of his last start and goes around in the last event in the early hours of the morning. Looking forward to another great program in Hong Kong as we bring you our best racing tips for Wednesday night!
Happy Valley Racing Tips – Wednesday, May 4th 2023
Race 2 – Hereford Handicap (21:15 AEST)
(5) Raging Blaze has more wins in him. The drop back to 1000m didn’t suit him last time and having run 2nd, 1st, 2nd and 1st in his 4 prior races, he’s sure to be right in the mix tonight from gate 4.
(3) Miracles has won his last 2 trials leading up to his return here. He also drops into C5 which should see him get a great chance to run well against weaker opposition than he’d be used to racing.
(4) Sunshine Legendary did a lot wrong last time and still won when resuming under Derek Leung. He’s aboard again this time and can get the horse over the line for 2 in a row with some luck from gate 3.
(5) Raging Blaze – E/W
$5/$2.15 (1 unit)
Race 7 – The St George’s Challenge Cup (23:45 AEST)
(7) Hoss was strong when 2nd behind Winning Icey last time. He’s the clear benchmark in this race and deserves to be shorter than he is.
(1) Beauty Tycoon was solid last start and has been in recent starts. He looks slightly below his best recently but is capable of improving and winning if Hoss isn’t on his game.
(5) Jolly Ruler was unimpressive on returning last start but did go out a winner last preparation. If he improves 2nd up he could be in the mix.
(7) Hoss – Win
$1.80 (2 units)
Race 9 – Wiltshire Handicap (00:50 AEST)
(9) Phoenix Light was blackbooked last time for storming home after receiving significant bad luck in the run. Zac Purton is on tonight and the horse is a massive winning chance with more luck
(10) Act Of Faith will be hoping for some speed on here as he looks likely so settle at the rear of the field under Karis Teetan.
(1) Gold Gold Baby is highly capable of winning but has mixed his form in recent races. Vincent Ho has stayed consistent with the horse and he does look as though he’ll be making it to C2 at some stage.
(9) Phoenix Light - E/W
$7/$2.60 (1 unit)
