We’re locked and loaded for Happy Valley on Wednesday night! Still no Zac Purton to be seen and Hugh Bowman is aboard plenty of strong chances across the nine-race card. Plenty of these races appeared straightforward on paper so here are the most confident Happy Valley selections for tonight!

Happy Valley Racing Tips – Wednesday, March 8th 2023
Race 1
(1) Kokushi Musou ran well last start and has been inching closer to breaking into C3 company. Hugh Bowman should give him every chance to do so tonight from gate 7. He’s got top weight but that didn’t stop him running 2nd to Allgreektome last time.
(10) Son Pak Fu ran 3rd behind Adefill who won again on Sunday. He won his last start and can win again from a good gate here. Looks a progressive horse.
(7) So Awesome resumes here and is a force to be reckoned with at his best. He may not be at his best 1st up but could be worth taking a chance at such generous odds.
(1) Kokushi Musou - Win
$3.20 (2 Units)
Race 4
(10) London Luckystar worked to hold a good position early last time and stuck on well for 4th. Meets a weaker field here by my judgement and can settle closer from an inside draw without overdoing it. Pace out wide should give the horse cover early and set the race up for him to get first crack in the straight.
(8) Iron Will worked home well last time behind Amazing Boy and was slightly held up in the straight there. Should be able to run well again if he reproduces that but will need to overcome a wider draw this time.
(3) Kung Fu Tea is in good form and drawn well tonight. Was able to win last time he had a low draw so should be able to perform well again this time.
(10) London Luckystar – Each Way
$4.20/$2 (1 Unit)
Race 5
(8) Sight Hero can never be ruled out over this trip and draws far more favourably tonight than he has recently in gate 2. Lyle Hewitson is aboard and has been racing in good form lately so expect him to give the horse every chance.
(7) E Universe produced a quality debut performance over 1000m working through the line strongly. Hugh Bowman takes over and the horse should have plenty of improvement in him with the added experience.
(10) Timestorm comes out of a strong race behind E Brother last time out. He was drawn wide there and is drawn wide again but with a touch of luck could be able to work his way into the finish.
(8) Sight Hero – Each Way
$5.80/$2.10 (1 Unit)
