Race 7: The Tab Wave - 5:32pm (AEDT)
(1) Madame Odette looks to be a handy stayer who is proven over the trip and arrives fourth-up today. She was very good two-back over a mile when running third to ALBERICH after making a searching run from the rear of the field to just miss (good gap to fourth). She then went to 1800m LS and was exposed a long way from home but kept kicking to hold off PRINCESS RHAENYS (who has since won again) with good gaps in behind. If we go back to last prep, she has form around FIREBURN and RENAISSANCE WOMAN over staying trips. She draws an ideal gate for the Gollan and Thompson combination to settle midfield and produce that strong TOF she possesses late. Nice e/w chance.
(1) The Vowels 4YO who hit the line intently last start and looks as if he will relish the rise in trip now. Worth thought, but draws wide.
(12) Arts Object Roughie of the race who looked suited at this distance last start finishing second. Few runs back only finished a couple lengths behind Madame Odette and gets a 1.5kg swing this time round. Roughie chance.
(1) Madame Odette E/W

Race 8: Magic Millions Rising Stars - 6:10pm (AEDT)
(11) Junquiera this is a very open race with many chances but I think we can get a result by having something on this girl and ESSEFFNINETY at a price. She’s been a bit costly this preparation (we tipped her LS) but I think she’s been crying out for more ground and she gets a bit of that today. She had genuine excuses first-up when she sat OSL and pulled hard before a post-race examination revealed she was slow to recover. Second-up she went back to last before turning for home and really warmed up late over 1200m to run fourth beaten 1.4L. She again drifted back LS and raced tight for portions of the straight before looking like she picked the bit up and went through the line nicely (nice work late). The stable sent her for a trial before this assignment and she won it impressively from the front. Draws a nice gate to hopefully settle a little closer in the run and gets C. Williams up. One of her only 2 wins to date came at the Gold Coast and it was dominant. I think she can improve sharply.
(10) Esseffninety has been a big drifter early markets with the TAB, but I think she’s getting out to a backable price now. She comes through some very different form lines for the Kennewell stable, but she’s shown enough talent to suggest she can measure up to this lot. She won nicely two-back when she drew wide at Pakenham over 1200m and raced 3WWC the entirety before getting to the middle of the track to let down quickly (good gaps behind her). She then went to Moonee Valley over 1200m and sat OSL on a moderate tempo with 61kgs on her back and really surged late to just miss SIMPLY SPRKLEZ who stole it on the corner. She’s had a trial since that run and wasn’t asked for much, but it was solid work. She draws the pole for Jamie Kah and maps to get a nice run behind the speed. The 1300m looks ideal and she can handle the cut out of the track.
(12) Latakia 4YO mare who has gone close this prep, but just cant win. Must be respected off previous outings, but draws a horrible gate here. She will need luck early to get into a good spot close to the front as that’s where she works best. Value chance, but needs luck from the wide draw.
