Esports Betting Tips: Wednesday, March 22nd 2023
Beastcoast vs Parabellum Esports
NAL 2023 Stage 1
Beastcoast lost against Oxygen Esports in the first match of the season, which was quite surprising, but it looked like they had an off day. This speculation was confirmed on Thursday when beastcoast showed their true colours and defeated Soniqs (7-5) and Spacestation Gaming (8-7) to climb up the ladder to no.5 spot with a 1-1-0-1 record.
Parabellum Esports have been all over the place with their performances. First, they lost against M80, bounced back with a 7-5 victory against Oxygen Esports, but then lost against Soniqs and Spacestation in round two.
Parabellum are currently the second-to-last team on the NAL Stage 2 ladder, but they are in my book, the weakest squad in the league. Parabellum might prove me wrong, but I haven’t seen enough from them yet to pick them over any other team in the league.
As long as they play their game, this should end in an effortless victory for beastcoast. We currently don’t have markets available other than moneyline, so I’m taking beastcoast at 1.53. But once we get round handicaps markets, I will take beastcoast at -2.5 maps.

M80 vs Soniqs
NAL 2023 Stage 1
Like beastcoast, Soniqs had a disappointing start to the season, and they haven’t looked much better last round. Soniqs have so far managed just one win against Parabellum Esports (7-3), yet they couldn’t get it done against Spacestation Gaming (7-8) and beastcoast (5-7), which puts them in a scary spot.
With just four points, Soniqs still have a shot at finishing high, but they’ll have to step it up this week and show something incredible against M80. But beating M80 won’t come easy.
M80 have so far lost two games against DarkZero (7-8) and Oxygen Esports (5-7) and won against Mirage (7-3) and Parabellum Esports (7-3). They’ve collected two commanding wins and suffered one close defeat against one of the best teams in the league, so as much as we could’ve expected more from M80, they’re doing relatively well.
But are they better than Soniqs? Before the season started, many would disagree, and I wouldn’t let a couple of games change that. Soniqs are mostly the same team that reached the semifinals at Six Jönköping Major 2022 in November and finished the final stage of NAL Season 2022 in second place.
M80 has also only managed to defeat Mirage who haven’t looked like themselves so far, and Parabellum, who I’m not very high on.
Soniqs have looked a bit rough over the first two rounds, but at 2.75, I’m taking a shot with them.

Oxygen Esports vs Mirage
NAL 2023 Stage 1
Mirage have collected just one point after two rounds of the season, which is concerning. First, they got crushed by DarkZero (2-7), then came out swinging and nearly defeated Spacestation Gaming (7-8), only to disappoint in their (3-7) defeat against M80 on Thursday.
The season hasn’t started well for Mirage, and based on what they’ve shown, it’s hard to find a good reason to favour them over Oxygen Esports. However, Mirage was a good team last season, and they have the players to bounce back, but it’s hard to say when that will happen.
Oxygen Esports are the current NAL Stage 1 leaders, with nine points and a 3-0-0-1 record. But what makes Oxygen Esports a scary team was their dominant victory against DarkZero (7-2) last round, which effectively makes Oxygen the strongest team in the region.
Oxygen’s 7-2 victory over DarkZero looks good, but DZ didn’t play well on the day, so that result isn’t a very good indication of how strong Oxygen are. They also lost against Parabellum (5-7) last week, making me believe Oxygen are a bit overhyped.
Betting on Mirage at the offered odds is a bit of a longshot, but I don’t see a good reason why they should be priced at 5.50. Oxygen looked better, but they’re overhyped, and it seems like people don’t have much hope that Mirage can bounce back. I recommend a smaller stake here.
