League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) continues with the second week of Summer Split on Wednesday, June 21, with five matches featuring North America’s top LoL esports teams. And our esports tipster is back with his coverage of three games, including Dignitas vs Golden Guardians, Team Liquid vs NRG Esports, and FlyQuest vs Cloud9.
Esports Betting Tips: Wednesday, June 21st 2023
Dignitas vs Golden Guardians
LCS 2023 Summer
Dignitas finished the first week of the summer season with one win against Evil Geniuses and two defeats against Immortals and Cloud9, which isn’t optimal, but not too bad for this team’s standards. And even though Dignitas got smoked by Cloud9, it’s hard to draw too many conclusions from three games.
Golden Guardians were last split’s finalists but did not show the same level of play last week, struggling to put together one win. Their only win so far came against the struggling FlyQuest, whereas Golden Guardians failed to achieve the same success against Cloud9 and Evil Geniuses.
Even though a 1-2 start for Golden Guardians is disappointing, it’s again tough to make any conclusions, especially knowing how good this team can be. But will they ever reach the same level they showed in LCS 2023 Spring split?
Priced at 1.36, Golden Guardians are expected to easily win this match with ease and considering their success in LCS 2023 Spring, it sounds like a fair offer. But they did not show enough last week to justify the odds.
I have reservations about Dignitas and their ability to deliver against stronger teams, but I don’t have much faith in Golden Guardians either.

Team Liquid vs NRG Esports
LCS 2023 Summer
Team Liquid looked pretty decent in the first week of Summer Split. They won all three of their series against TSM, 100 Thieves, and Immortals, which is nothing to write home about, but also an excellent outcome. Over the three games, Liquid have looked much better than last split, and it looks like changing the coach has helped them improve their decision-making.
NRG Esports haven’t disappointed in the first week either. They managed just one win from the first three games, but their sole win came against 100 Thieves on the final day, which slightly overshadowed NRG’s losses against Evil Geniuses and Immortals.
It’s impossible to make much sense from just three games, but NRG Esports look like they have the potential to finish this season strong. They won’t compete for the title, but a top six finish should be achievable.
Still, while I can praise NRG Esports and their ceiling, Team Liquid is a better team with better players and macro. I wouldn’t be shocked to see Liquid stumble and fall since we’re early into the season, but unless something goes south, Liquid should handle NRG Esports easily.

FlyQuest vs Cloud9
LCS 2023 Summer
FlyQuest are officially the biggest disappointment of the first week of LCS 2023 Summer. They entered the season as the favourites to win the championship, and not only did FlyQuest fail to live up to the expectations, but they also lost all three of their games.
A superteam falling apart. Shocker.
A 0-3 record doesn’t mean that FlyQuest will finish the season bottom of the table, and a poor stretch doesn’t change the fact that this is still the most stacked team in the league. But it’s obvious that FlyQuest will need more time to gel together and start producing good results.
Cloud9, who were considered the second-best team in the league ahead of the Summer Split start, did the opposite and proved their worth. With wins against Golden Guardians, Dignitas, and TSM, Cloud9 didn’t have to show much as they’ve yet to face a good team, but Cloud9 looked very dominant in their wins which is a good sign.
The scary thing about betting against FlyQuest is knowing they will wake up at any time and start rolling over the LCS. The good thing about betting against FlyQuest here is that it doesn’t seem like that’ll happen anytime soon.
