There’s a quality program at Eagle Farm this Saturday to headline racing in Queensland. The rail is out 4m the entirety after being out 2m the entirety two weeks ago, and our expert selections are for a GOOD track – watch and monitor for any pattern if possible.

Eagle Farm Racing Tips: Saturday, September 30th 2023
Race 6: Michael Ball Class 3 Handicap 1820m at 3:28pm AEST
(6) TENZING ($4.80) – looks a nice value play in an open race. He’s fourth up today and gets out to 1820m fourth-up which is key. He ran well behind ARNAQUEUR two starts ago (since won well last week) over 1350m when he had the gun run behind a slow tempo. He was strong late after being left flat footed when the sprint went on (hit the line nicely). Stepped up to the mile LS and was forced to sit 3&4WNC the entirety yet still hit the line well to run third behind SEBRING GIRL (also here). Gets a 2kg weight swing on that runner and Ben Thompson up (I note he’s jumped off CONTRIBUTE to ride him). Sticky gate, so he’ll need some luck on settling, but if he can get a tow into the race I think he’ll be strong late. Should give us a sight (1.5 Units win)
(3) KOKONOTSU ($2.70) – Has led its last two and won nicely. Gets a nice draw today for Orman and Gollan. He could get an easy time in front and will take catching again. Goes well at this track too.
(6) TENZING - WIN
$4.80 (1.5 Units)
Race 7: Ladbrokes Odds Surge BM75 1000m at 4:07pm AEST
(2) IMMORAL ($5.00) – another who looks good value early markets. He’s absolutely flying this prep and arguably could be going for 5 in a row. He was super impressive three-back beating JUBAI PRIDE and co when he was forced back from the wide gate before weaving through to the outside and putting them away (good gaps behind / won easily). Two-back he was snagged from a wide gate and found himself midfield after a nice bit of riding by Orman before he repeated the dose to win well (beat home MOTOMISS who since ran well and MUSCHIALLI who has won since). He went to 1110m LS and surged into third after being held up badly at a key stage behind MUSCHIALLI (as referenced). I think BEAST MODE and FLAMING CONQUEST can inject some good speed into the race and we can come over the top of them. Orman sticks! (1 unit win)
(6) BEAST MODE ($2.50) – He will likely roll to the front and give the others something to catch. Won impressively first up and then trialled well without being tested. Has upside.
(2) IMMORAL - WIN
$5 (1 Unit)
Race 8: XXXX Open Handicap 1600m at 4:47pm AEST
(9) SHIBLI ($4.80) – looks to have returned in great order this time in. Was unsuited over 1350m first up but he went super and should’ve finished much closer to VIMINELE (was badly held-up / only clear inside the final 100m / winner was off and gone). He then went to the mile LS and was too good for them. He beat home BULLFINCH easily that day and he had just ran second to IRISH SONGS beating home CEPHEUS and WILLIAMSBURG (they quinella’d the G2 Shannon Stakes last week). He meets BULLFINCH better at the weights for having beaten him and he should still take improvement from the run being third-up. Has a wide gate to contend with and will likely get back in the run, which is a query, but there looks to be enough speed on paper to give backmarkers their chance. Keen he runs well (1.5 Units win)
(5) INDISPENSABLE ($10/$3) – looks a good value pick here. Ran well behind CANADIAN DANCER last start, goes well at EAGLE FARM and gets in well at the weights after the claim. Has form behind IRISH SONGS, which threw the winner of the group 2 Shannon Stakes last week. Blow out hope.
(9) SHIBLI - WIN
$4.80 (1.5 Units)
