Minnesota Vikings at New York Giants - Monday Night Football
The NFL certaintly didn't foresee the situation that these two teams would be facing off this early in the season. What was probably marked as an exciting game looks just the opposite.
The Minnesota Vikings have just one win to their name, while the New York Giants are still searching for their first win. However their is still alot of pride on the line and the show must go on.
The Vikings come into this game very beat up. QB Christin Ponder is out and Josh Freeman newly aquired from Tampa Bay will play his first game for Minnesota. This is such a big ask, for a QB to come in and learn the entire playbook in just one week. Vikings have even bigger trouble on defense with most of their secondary out including Harrison Smith - their only shining light. They are giving up 31.6 points per game. Not to mention the star running back ( Adrian Peterson ) has hamstring issues.
New York Giants are 0-6 yet they are still favoured by 3 points here. Punters will be reluctant to jump on the Giants but there are alot of positives coming into this game for the winless Giants.
They look set to get their star Centre David Bass back. This will be a huge factor in the game giving the out of form Eli Manning time in the pocket to make some completions. Especially playing against the worst passing defense in the NFL. They are also coming off a Thursday Night game which means an extra three days off recovery. New York had a terrible start last week against Chicago but fought back all day, showing alot of heart.
New York at home should get their first win in a convincing manner.
