Liverpool vs Real Madrid
Stade de France, Paris, Sunday 5am (AEST)
Liverpool had a brief chance at snatching the English Premier League title on the weekend but a couple of late goals from Manchester City in a seperate game just 35 miles away dashed their hopes. They'll be looking for redemption and to add their 3rd 2022 trophy to the case on Sunday after winning both the EFL Cup and the FA Cup.
Real Madrid were dominant throughout the La Liga season this year, claiming the title by 13 points on the back of a 26-8-4 record. Karim Benzema had a fantastic season up forward for Real, scoring 27 goals and adding another to date in the Champions League.
Predicted XIs
Liverpool: (4-3-3) Alisson; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahim Konate, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson; Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Naby Keita; Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Luis Dia
Real Madrid: (4-3-3): Thibaut Courtois; Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, David Alaba, Ferland Mendy; Toni Kroos, Casemiro, Luka Modric; Fede Valverde, Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior

Real Madrid have had a dominant record over Liverpool in their recent history. They are undefeated in their last five games against the Reds. Liverpool have not beaten Real Madrid since all the way back in the 2009 Champions League.
There's no doubt that Liverpool are a much improved side to the one that was handily defeated in those games back in 2014-2018, however, the back to back games in just April of last year in which Real Madrid looked the better side are ominous.
The Spanish side start as pretty heavy underdogs here, and given their record against the Reds, I'm happy to take the value.
