Canterbury & Sandown Racing Tips for Wednesday, July 5th

Two fairly interesting racing meets in action this Wednesday, the 5th of July. We take a look at the 7 race meet at Canterbury and the 8 race meet at Sandown and give our betting tips below. 

CANTERBURY RACING TIPS

R1 - Calculated
R2 - Hamoon Dream
R3 - Sasso Corbaro
R4 - So Hard To Catch
R5 - Steyne
R6 - Obsidian / Life O'Brien EW
R7 - Mana / Bratislava EW

Best Bet: Race 5 Steyne

Resumed with a good win at Newcastle which took his record to three wins from five starts. He and Live To Dream ran over the same distance on the same day, and Steyne's winning time was 0.85 seconds quicker than Live To Dream's. Bowman on board for the Snowdens, hard to beat.

Best Value: Race 6 Life O'Brien 

Won over track and distance last start and was competitive in starts prior. Steps up in grade here but it's not an overly strong race and he's drawn to get a good run from barrier 6. $9 looks a decent each way price.

SANDOWN RACING TIPS

R1 - Smart Coupe
R2 - Miss Siska
R3 - Best Suggestion EW / Caruselle EW
R4 - Divine Chills
R5 - Kawabata EW
R6 - Four Sisters / Sensation Ally EW
R7 - Kalashani Lad / Septamore EW
R8 - Senor Alf

Best Bet: Race 1 Smart Coupe

Looks very hard to beat in this after a dominant debut at Wangaratta, winning by just under 3 lengths. Should go straight to the front and win. Short odds but backable at $1.90.

Best Value: Race 6 Sensation Ally EW

Finished close second up which is good given her second up record is very poor. Her third up record is significantly better with two wins from three starts. The claim gets her in well and at $10 she's a great price.
