Welcome to our preview and horse racing betting tips for racing at Bendigo and Warwick Farm on Wednesday, October 10th.
Bendigo is currently a Soft 5 and has a number of low races on the card, while Warwick Farm is a Heavy 8, so some of the fields have been hit by scratchings.
We’ve gone through both meetings and selected five races to bet in below!
BENDIGO TIPS
RACE 4
#8 Subraise broke through for a maiden victory at Ballarat two starts ago and then ran a creditable race behind Amphitrite at Flemington last start. That was a strong form race as Amphitrite has since come out and won again at Flemington last weekend. The step up to 1600m looks suitable now and Weir has a good record at Bendigo, with a 28% strike rate this season. Value looks to be #4 Dandre.
TIP: #8 Subraise $1.90 beteasy
RACE 5
Two horse play for me in this race. #2 One More Try resumed with a strong 2L win in BM64 grade at Geelong. Steps up in grade to BM70 now but she won in this grade last preparation over 2000m. That tells us that she’s obviously capable of handling the step up in grade as well as the step up in distance to a mile today. She has a good second up record and has two wins from three starts on soft ground. #6 Miss Coolangatta won at Moonee Valley on Friday night over the 2040m journey, but drops back to the mile on the five-day back-up here. Typically I’d be against horses dropping so sharply in distance but Preusker is an astute trainer and they’re obviously confident of notching up her second victory in the space of a week. Interestingly, Jordan Childs rode her on Friday night but doesn’t ride her today – he’s on One More Try. $4.60 and $3.00 available respectively but I’ll be dutch betting the two.
TIP: #6 Miss Coolangatta $3.00 UBET / #2 One More Try $4.60 pointsbet
RACE 7
Bit of a throw at the stumps here with $34/$8.50 available for #1 Archery Peak. He’s done very little in his first two starts back from a spell but he steps up very sharply from 1500m to 2400m today, which is unusual in itself but probably suitable for a horse like him. Barrier 1 helps him and so does the soft ground. He’s only had one start on soft ground previously and it was a win.
TIP: #1 Archery Peak $34 Sportsbet
WARWICK FARM TIPS
RACE 6
#8 Jen Rules resumed as favourite over 1200m here at Warwick Farm three weeks ago when she ran 3rd behind Invictum Domina, beaten 0.6L. She was carried wide from about the mid-point of the race on that occasion so may have had a little excuse. Back to 1100m today, should enjoy a good run from barrier 6, McEvoy sticks with her and Snwoden runners win second up more than they do first up so she should be right in this.
TIP: #8 Jen Rules $2.70 UBET
RACE 7
What looked a two-horse race on paper to begin with now looks a one-horse race after the scratching of Girl Tuesday. #2 Aqua D’ivina is now the even money favourite and I’d be surprised if she wasn’t an odds-on chance come race time. She resumed with a good run behind Spring Charlie, beaten 0.2L, and Spring Charlie has since come out and won again. She’s won her only start when second up previously and she seemed to handle the heavy ground on debut. Looks to have a pretty significant class edge on these. #8 The Iron Maiden is the mudlark that will love the heavy ground.
TIP: #2 Aqua D’ivina $2.00 beteasy
