Bendigo will host a nine-race card on Wednesday during a week with very little moisture about ensuring a Good4 track for horses. Race 1 is a maiden for the three year old’s which starts at 1pm (AEST), while the final race of the program is scheduled to jump at 5:40pm (AEST).
Check out Brendan Bunworth’s best bets for the card below and make sure to head over to our Racing Tips page for more free tips on Wednesday.
Bendigo Racing Tips: Wednesday, September 27th 2023
Race 2: Bendigo Mazda Maiden Plate - 1:35pm (AEST)
(7) Hellish has a tricky barrier to contend with (10) but goes pretty well fresh and is in a stable (Danny O’Brien) who is performing well at the minute. Before his spell he was 6th at Randwick in a Group race and was only defeated by 1.6L on that occasion. He has won 2 recent Flemington jumpouts on Dry ground which he will get again here.
(5) Dulcet resumes for Chris Waller and Michael Dee and he has placed on resumption before. From barrier 1 he should get a nice run.
(8) Hydrogen Power won a Cranbourne jumpout 2 weeks ago and goes into this having been unplaced in both starts.
(10) Modown has drawn wide in 15 but has Williams on who is riding very well.
(7) Hellish - WIN
$3 (2 Units)
Race 4: Happy 65th Birthday Heather Wylie - 2:45pm (AEST)
(5) Celui resumes and he has won first up previously. He has jumped out well and has form on Good tracks. His win was at Bendigo when leading all of the way. May go forward again here. Ollie goes on for the first time. Tick.
(4) Starconi goes well fresh but was poor at Geelong last time. Goes good on the Dry.
(7) Valois has had 6 months off and has only won on the Soft. Looked good though.
(8) Beldivian isn’t quick early but he likes this distance range.
(5) Celui - Win
$2.60 (2 Unit)
Race 6: The Big Screen Company Handicap - 3:55pm (AEST)
(5) Rockeby Road hasn’t raced over this distance but it looks as though it will be no problem for him. Last start it was a 4th at The Valley for this guy on a Good track and it looked like he has plenty to offer. Jordan Childs sticks with him and he will likely settle on speed in this one.
(8) Pearlman has placed 5 from 11 on Good tracks and he was pretty wide at Geelong. With more luck this time he can run top 3.
(6) City Limits won well at Moe last start when fav and can back it up here. Billy Egan takes the ride for the first time.
(3) Handshake ran on okay at Mt Gambier last start and this distance suits him.
(5) Rockeby Road - Win
$3.20 (2 Units)
Race 9: Bet365 Odds Drift Protector Handicap - 5:40pm (AEST)
(7) Belmia can be tardy away but with Bendigo’s long straight it will give him plenty of time to straighten up if that is again the case. Willow sticks with him after a 6th beaten 2.2L at Hillside last start and his second up form is solid. He will likely settle midfield or worse off but in a small field he should get every chance.
(6) Vankukla is fitter after his Seymour effort (4th) and further improvement is expected. Gets the inside draw and if the rails are on he has a better chance.
(9) Beyond Ready won in a close one at Wodonga and this is harder. Has an in-form stable and jockey on his side though.
(2) Saturn Star returns from NSW and gets John Allen for the first time. His only win was on a Good surface.
(7) Belmia - Win
$2.65 (3 Units)
