Talented horse who makes his stable debut for Robert Smerdon today. In his first campaign, he beat Snitzepeg on debut, ran 2nd to Merchant Navy at Flemington and ran 3rd to Time Awaits in Group 3 company. If he brings that form here, he’ll win.
Best Value: Race 6 Indian Thunder
There was better odds available but after scratchings the price comes down to $7 for this Weir trained sprinter who has failed horribly in two starts back from a spell. In his debut campaign he won a listed race in Adelaide, but he’s not shown up this prep. Back to Sunday grade, Damian Lane rides and perhaps the soft track could see him improve. Also like Weir’s horse Dalahouse in R3 at $10.

Bolted in on debut by 2.5L in Class 4 over 1200m when leading all the way. Moreira sticks with him and gave him a really big push during the week as a horse that could go places this season. Rises in class and goes to 1400m, will be ridden quieter today but they’ll need to be good to beat him.
Best Value: Race 6 - Bear Chum
No prices available yet but think we’ll get a good price here. This horse ran 3rd to Goldie Flanker last prep over track and distance and gets an 8.5kg weight swing in his favour as they re-oppose each other today. First up for the new season, well drawn, can go well.
