AFL Essendon vs Gold Coast Betting Tips
Marvel Stadium, Sunday 3.20pm (AEDT)
Essendon
The Bombers got their season off to a fantastic start with an impressive Round 1 win over Hawthorn at the MCG. After trailing at quarter time, the Bombers went on to kick 16 of the remaining 21 goals in the game to blow the Hawks off the park and record a 59 point win. Darcy Parish got straight back to his accumulating ways in the win, picking up 37 touches while new recruit Will Setterfield was one of the Bombers best with 25 touches and a goal.
Key Injuries: Nik Cox, Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti, James Stewart, Sam Weideman, Peter Wright
Another new recruit for the Bombers, Sam Weideman, was solid in the opening game, kicking two goals and clunking four marks. However, he could miss on Sunday after sustaining a toe injury, key forward duo Peter Wright will also be out for an extended period. Jake Stringer missed the first game through a hamstring injury but is available to make his season debut this weekend.
Gold Coast
The Suns were on the receiving end of a similar blowout in Round 1, theirs at the hands of the Sydney Swans. The Suns midfielders had plenty of the ball with Touk Miller, Matt Rowell and Charlie Constable combining for 83 touches while Jarrod Witts had one of the bigger games of the weekend from a ratings perspective. However, the Suns couldn’t convert it on the scoreboard, as they went down by 49 points at home.
Key Injuries: Connor Budarick, Brandon Ellis, Sean Lemmens, Wil Powell
On a positive note for the Suns, their injury list is pretty thin at the moment. Midfielder/forward Brandon Ellis remains a few weeks away, but Lachie Weller looks set to make his season debut this weekend.
Match Prediction
The Bombers start as 10.5 point favourites at home, which I actually think seems a bit low given their dominance and the Suns' struggles in Round 1. However, I like the look of the Dons overs more here. The Bombers average 100.5 points per game in their last two against the Suns and put up the 2nd highest score of the weekend in Round 1 with 124 points. I think they score 110+ again on Sunday.

Kicking off our multi by taking the total points overs down to 160.5. The Bombers love to play an aggressive style of football and I think this could become a bit of a track meet under the roof at Marvel.
Our other two legs will combine Darcy Parish to have 30+ touches with Will Setterfield to have 20+. Both players cleared this mark easily in Round 1.

Will Setterfield 20+ Disposals
