The Q Clash is a rivalry that seems to bring both the best and worst out of these two AFL clubs, which makes for entertaining viewing for supporters and neutrals alike. As is generally the case, Brisbane will enter this 2022 edition as strong favourites after showing their premiership credentials in recent weeks, however the Suns refuse to be pushovers so far this season.

Gold Coast vs Brisbane Betting Tips
Metricon Stadium, Sunday 18th April, 4.10pm (AEDT)
Gold Coast
Injuries: Jack Bowes, Charlie Constable, Joel Jeffrey, Ben King, Jack Lukosius, Bodhi Uwland
Mabior Chol has recovered from an adductor injury to be selected this week, which will have Suns fans relieved as their tall forward stocks are already thin.
Sitting at 2-3, Gold Coast have had a mixed but generally competitive start to their 2022 campaign. The win against Carlton a fortnight ago was a highlight and representative of what the Suns are capable of, however the gap between their best and worst is still too large. What has been impressive so far is how plays across the park have adapted to new roles and expectations. Lachie Weller has slotted into a playmaking half back role with ease, while Matt Rowell is starting to get some continuity in his game through the midfield. Playing on home turf this week will be an advantage.
Brisbane
Injuries: Eric Hipwood, Mitch Robinson
Brisbane has a remarkably clean bill of health, their medical staff receiving praise in the media for effectively managing a list with more than a couple injury prone players.
Brisbane appears the most likely challenger to Melbourne at this stage in the season, sitting a 4-1 with just one minor blemish to the Cats at Kardinia Park. The Lions are firing on all cylinders right across the ground with a strong backline supporting Neale and co. through the midfield as well as a dangerous forward line led by Joe Daniher and Charlie Cameron. This is exactly the kind of game that Brisbane usually excels in, putting sides to the sword that aren’t quite at the same level.
Match Prediction
Brisbane has won the last six Q Clash fixtures, with five of those victories coming by over 40 points. A home ground advantage has not been of much help to the Suns in that time and while they are a slightly improved outfit, Brisbane will be confident with a near full strength side as opposed to Gold Coast’s makeshift line-up.

Lyons had 37 and 33 disposals in matches against his former club last year and I love a good revenge narrative. The odds seem long for him to get 25+ here, which he has done twice this year.
Jarryd Lyons 25+ disposals ($2.00 at TAB)
McCarthy kicked 6 goals in two matches against the Suns last year and has 8 goals so far this year.
Lincoln McCarthy 2+ goals ($2.10 at TAB)
With Oscar McInerny in the side Fort is playing mostly as a deep forward. He should get plenty of opportunities against the Suns.
