Brisbane vs Collingwood Betting Tips
Gabba, Thursday 14th April, 7.35pm (AEST)
Brisbane
Injuries: Keidean Coleman, Eric Hipwood (Out)
The Lions got through their clash with the Cats unscathed on Friday night and will have a boost this week with ruckman Oscar McInerney coming back from suspension. Outside of Coleman and Hipwood, the Lions have a clean bill of health.
The Lions were 3-0 heading into their Friday night clash with the Cats in GMHBA. They led for portions throughout the 3rd and 4th quarter but ultimately couldn’t hold on against a strong Cats outfit, going down by 10 points on the road.
Daniel McStay continued his strong start to the season, booting another three goals as one of the Lions best on the night. Lachie Neale also racked up a game high 30 touches in the win.
I’m not, and I’m sure the Lions fans won’t be too concerned with that loss. Geelong is an extremely tough place to play at the best of times, even more so when you are 3-0 and might have just slipped back into 4th gear.
Collingwood
Injuries: Jamie Elliot, Charlie Dean, Nathan Kreuger, Nathan Murphy, Beau McCreery (Out) Trey Ruscoe, Jordan Roughead (Test)
The Pies were dealt a blow in their loss to the Eagles on the weekend as small forward Jamie Elliot went down with an injured AC joint. They could be boosted by the return of key defender Jordan Roughead this week.
The Pies started the season in solid fashion with impressive wins over the Saints and Crows. They have since lost their last two games to the Cats as well as a shock upset defeat at the hands of an undermanned Eagles side.
It was hard to falter the Pies much in their loss to the Cats, as they were gallant against what is thought to be a top four side. They really let the ball slip against the Eagles though, and fans certainly won’t be happy with a few late umpiring decisions that went against them.
Match Prediction
The Lions will welcome the return to the Gabba this week after the tough road trip to Geelong in Round 4. Back them to bounce back in a big way at home, where they have won 11 of their last 12 games as well as their last two in a row against the Pies.
Those two wins came at an average margin of 46.5 points. Back them to cover the 29.5 point line.

In each of the last three matches between Collingwood and Brisbane, the highest scoring quarter has been the 2nd. It was also the highest scoring in the Lions loss to the Cats last week as well as the Pies loss to the Eagles.
Highest Scoring Quarter - 2nd ($3.30 at Ladbrokes)
In his last three games against Collingwood, Jarryd Lyons has had 29, 29 and 27 touches respectively. I think $2.80 is great value for him to bump up that number just a touch.
