Sydney vs Collingwood Betting Tips
SCG, Sunday 14th August, 3:20pm (AEST)
Sydney
Injuries: Josh Kennedy, Sam Naismith, Colin O’Riordan, Marc Sheather (Out)
Sydney are blessed with a healthy list heading into Round 22 and are only without one or two of their best 22. Sam Naismith has missed the season with a knee injury, while the retiring Josh Kennedy continues to struggle with a bad hamstring.
The Swans had the easy kill against the Kangaroos last weekend in what was a good percentage booster. They comfortably won the first three quarters before taking the foot off the gas in the final term to eventually win by 38 points. It was the Swans third straight win by at least five goals and their fifth win in a row overall. The Swans are now only percentage outside the top four but have two tough matches to finish the home and away season.
Collingwood
Injuries: Taylor Adams, Charlie Dean, Brodie Grundy, Nathan Kreuger, Reef McInnes, Tom Wilson
Collingwood have a relatively healthy list right now and that’s a big part of the reason for their huge success over the last couple of months. Unfortunately, Brodie Grundy will miss the rest of the season because of an injured ankle, while Taylor Adams should be returning in the next week or so from a sore groin.
The Magpies continue to tick over the win column in what’s been a remarkable bounce back season in 2022. They secured arguably their best win of the year last weekend against the reigning premiers despite trailing for nearly the entirety of the match. Incredibly, the Magpies have now won 11 matches on the spin and each of their last seven have been by under two goals. They’ve catapulted themselves into third spot on the ladder and can put themselves in a fantastic position to secure a double chance in the finals with a win on Sunday.
Match Prediction
Both of these teams enter this contest in fantastic winning form, with the Swans winning five straight and the Magpies 11 in a row. The Magpies have knocked off some top sides during their run and will be heading to Sydney full of confidence. I’m surprised to see them start as 20.5-point underdogs considering their red-hot form and am more than willing to back them into cover that here.

Errol Gulden is playing some of his best footy at the pointy end of the season and is hitting the scoreboard with regularity. He’s slotted six goals in his last four outings and is great value to kick at least one against the Magpies.
Errol Gulden Anytime Goal Scorer ($1.77 at Ladbrokes)
Brody Mihocek has been the Magpies most consistent threat up forward this season and continues to tick over his goals tally. He’s kicked two goals in each of his last three matches and should be good to continue that streak.
Brody Mihocek 2+ goals ($1.85 at Ladbrokes)
Steele Sidebottom is having another excellent season on the wing for the Magpies. He’s collected 20+ disposals in four of his last seven matches and is good odds to do it again here.
Steele Sidebottom 20+ Disposals ($2.25 at Ladbrokes)
