Richmond vs Carlton Betting Tips
MCG, Thursday 16th June, 7.20pm (AEST)
Richmond
The Tigers came out of their bye round with a solid win against the Power in Round 13 on the weekend. In a back and forth match, it was their defence that was the catalyst in the win as they allowed just 65 points on the back of 10 goals. It was a contradictory performance to the way the Tigers have played for the majority of the season so far, currently sitting in the bottom eight for points allowed per game.
With the win, they moved into the top eight and are looking good to keep climbing with games against the Eagles, Kangaroos, Bombers, Suns and Hawks in the run home. If they keep up their current form, they should be a massive top four threat by the end of the season.
Carlton
The Blues winning ways continued on Friday night as they downed the Bombers by 26 points at the MCG. They have won five of their last six games and firmed up their spot in the top four, now sitting four points clear of the fifth placed Cats.
It’s a testament to the Blues depth that they continue to win games despite one of the longest injury lists in the league. Luckily for them, the strong majority of that injury list should return within the next four weeks, which should set them up nicely for a real push at the pointy end of the season.
Match Prediction
The Tigers start as 2.5 point favourites and I’m agreeing with he bookies here in that these two teams are pretty tough to split. They are both in solid form of late and played out a pretty even contest back in Round 1 which saw both teams hold 20+ point leads throughout stages of the game.
I love the look of the ‘Any Other Result’ in the wire to wire market here. There were seven lead changes in their Round 1 game and they alternated leads at the end of all four quarters.

Matthew Kennedy had 30+ touches in the first three games of the season including the Round 1 clash against the Tigers. Since then, he has still had some big games but failed to break the 30 barrier. With Adam Cerra coming out of the side with injury this week, there should be more run in the middle for Kennedy, I like the odds for him to get 30+ this week.

There’s set to be a bit of rain around Melbourne on Friday night so I think this could be a bit of a stalemate in terms of scoring much like the Tigers-Power game was last weekend. Back the under here at 154.5
