Adelaide vs West Coast Betting Tips
Adelaide Oval, Saturday 4th June, 1.45pm (AEST)
Adelaide
Ins: Patrick Parnell, Taylor Walker
Outs: Chayce Jones, Jordon Butts, Luke Brown
The Crows are looking pretty solid on the injury front at the moment. Only Rory Sloane, Paul Seedsman and Josh Rachele remain on the sidelines from the Crows best 22.
After a Round 6 win over the Dogs that looked like it was going to set up the Crows for a real push at finals, they have gone on to lose five in a row and now sit in 15th place on the ladder with a 3-8 record. They haven't had a lot to get excited about over the last month, but their performance down in Geelong on the weekend was at least a little admireable.
They had just two fewer scoring shots than the Cats in the loss, and were competitve in the midfield as Rory Laird, Ben Keays, Riley O'Brien and Jordan Dawson all had strong games. Taylor Walker comes back into the side this week which will address their biggest issue, avenues to goal.
West Coast
Ins: Shannon Hurn
Outs: Jamaine Jones, Josh Rotham
It's the same old story for the Eagles at the moment. Still absolutely ravaged by soft tissue injuries after interupted pre and early season through COVID issues. They currently have 14 players on the injury list.
It's really quite amazing that West Coast somehow managed to get that win over the Magpies earlier in the season given just how bad they have been in the rest of their games. They are 1-10 on the season and have an absolutely dismal percentage of just 49.7. It's one of the lowest marks in the history of the VFL/AFL, and it doesn't look like improving anytime soon for West Coast.
I find it quite unbelievable just how bad they have been considering the amount of premiership players they still have running around on a weekly basis. This week, they'll still have 10 players from their 2018 flag take the field, alongisde proven AFL talent in the likes of Alex Witherden, Tim Kelly, Jake Waterman and Sam Petrevski-Seton. That's at least 14 genuine AFL players, they shouldn't be getting belted by double their score every week, enough excuses.
Match Preview
Hard to like the Eagles to even be competitive on the weekend. Every week you think that it might be the turning point but week in week out they just keep getting blown out. The line has opened at 37.5 in favour of the Crows, which doesnt seem like it's enough, but I'm opting for the overs instead.
The Eagles have allowed over 100 points in 9/11 games this season, and in their last seven games they have allowed a whopping 131.2. There is a little bit of rain around Adelaide on Saturday but I don't expect that to stop the Crows scoring 90+. Jacking the alternate overs up a bit and placing a small wager on seems the play here.

I love the semi-hedge on the overs with Riley O'Brien possessions here. If there is more rain than expected on the weekend and the total points are affected, I think O'Brien should have a field day with the incresed stoppage numbers. The big man had 28 touches in the loss to the Cats last weekend and is great odds to have 20+ again.
Riley O'Brien 20+ Disposals ($1.98 at Ladbrokes)
Really liking the odds for Lachlan Murphy to hit the scoreboard on the weekend. The small forward has kicked just one goal this season but there should be a lot more ball to go around in the Crows forward line this week against the Eagles. Named in the forward pocket and odds of $4.25 to kick 2+, I'll take that any day.
Lachlan Murphy 2+ Goals ($4.25 at Ladbrokes)
