After the Heat managed to steal Game 2 on the road, it looked like we were in for a long and entertaining NBA Finals series. However, the Nuggets quickly bounce back with road wins in Game 3 & 4 and now find themselves just one win away from clinching the series and claiming their first ever NBA Championship.
There were plenty of similarities in the Nuggets two road wins in Miami. In fact, the score from quarter-to-quarter between the two games were nearly identical. In both games they led by 5 at half time, 14 at three quarter time, and finished up with a comfortable double-digit margin victory.
However, the key contributors for the Nuggets were vastly different in Game 4 from the previous three games in the series. Aaron Gordon managed to chime in with 27 points after a blistering second quarter, while Bruce Brown had 21 points and connected on multiple three-point shots.
For the Heat, Jimmy Butler had his first game of the series shooting above 50% from the field and finished with 25 points, while Bam Adebayo posted another double-double and had his fourth straight game of 20+ points.
Looking ahead to Game 5 and it’s hard to see how the Heat can turn things around. The Nuggets have been nearly impossible to stop on offence all playoffs, including the Finals where they’ve had 104+ points in each game.
Back on their home floor and with mismatches everywhere you look, I expect the Nuggets to close out the series in style and put plenty of points on the board.
