NBA Betting Tips: Wednesday, 2nd November
Golden State Warriors at Miami Heat
FTX Arena, 10:30am AEDT
The defending champs head to Miami in search of their first road win for the season. They’re currently 3-0 away from home having lost in Phoenix, Charlotte, and Detroit.
A dominant win on opening night suggested that all was well in the Warriors camp, but after losing four of their six games since, there are suggestions that maybe it isn’t all sunshine and lollipops.
Similarly, the Heat have had a poor start to their campaign and enter this slate with a 2-5 record. It’s still very early on in an 82-game season, but you would’ve expected a veteran team that’s played together a lot to be one of the pace setters.
In the Heat’s defence, they’ve had a tough schedule to start the season with six of their first seven opponents being playoff teams from a season ago, and two of them were against NBA Finalists.
This will be the second meeting between these teams in less than a week, but this time it will be the Heat who have home court advantage.
The Heat have been within striking distance in every game to date and get a chance to knock over the defending champs who are currently in a vulnerable state. I’m keen to be with them to get the job done at home.

Orlando Magic at OKC Thunder
Paycom Center, 11am AEDT
Two teams expected to finish with some of the worst records in the league this season will go to battle at Paycom Center on Wednesday morning.
The Magic (1-6) will play their sixth road game in eight starts against a Thunder (3-3) side that will be brimming with confidence after three straight wins.
Paolo Banchero has certainly lived up to the hype of being a #1 pick with averages of 23/8/4, although it hasn’t impacted winning as his Magic sit bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.
On the other hand, the Thunder have been churning out wins over the past week or so despite being expected to tank this season, however, their front office won’t mind too much considering they’re already the owners of a ridiculous number of first round picks for the upcoming draft.
Both teams have good young players on their roster, but fatigue after being on the road for so long at the beginning of the season will make it tough for the Magic to be competitive here. So, with that said, backing the Thunder to cover the spread looks to be a solid play.

Minnesota Timberwolves at Phoenix Suns
Footprint Center, 1pm AEDT
The final game of the day will see the Timberwolves travelling to Phoenix to take on the Suns who will be without starting centre, Deandre Ayton.
The Timberwolves are yet to really click with their new-look front line of KAT and Rudy Gobert struggling to gel together. That pair, along with D’Angelo Russell and Anthony Edwards are still trying to figure out the pecking order on offence.
It hasn’t been a poor start for the Timberwolves by any stretch – they enter this slate with a 4-3 record.
The Suns have reminded us all not to take pre-season performances with a grain of salt. They were historically poor in their lead-in games but enter Wednesday with the equal best record in the NBA at 5-1.
The Suns would be a lot shorter in the H2H market in this clash if Ayton was playing, although I for one don’t see his absence as a big deal. Jock Landale and Bismack Biyombo have both been playing well in the backup centre minutes and there’s no reason why that won’t continue.
The Suns have won each of their last four meetings with the Timberwolves and current form suggests that streak will grow on Wednesday.
Phoenix Suns -5
