NBA Betting Tips: Tuesday February 28th 2023
Miami Heat at Philadelphia 76ers
Wells Fargo Center, 11am AEDT
Two Eastern Conference rivals will lock horns in one of the more exciting matchups of the day, with the Miami Heat travelling to take on the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Heat have had an underwhelming campaign to date and have decided to shake things up in recent weeks. One of their big moves was acquiring Kevin Love from the Cavaliers, although they’re 0-2 so far with him in the team.
Meanwhile, the 76ers, lost a heartbreaker against the Celtics last start after one of the more dramatic finishes you’ll see. That loss snapped a five-game win streak and was their third loss in as many meetings against the Celtics this season.
These teams are yet to face each other this season but it’s obvious who the more likely victor is in their first meeting. The 76ers are in far better form overall and have a fantastic 24-9 record at home, while the Heat are just 13-19 on the road. The 76ers should be winning this one comfortably.

Boston Celtics at New York Knicks
Madison Square Garden, 11:30am AEDT
The Boston Celtics will be riding an emotional high when they continue their road strip with a stopover in New York to take on the Knicks.
The Celtics won a three-point thriller in Philadelphia a couple of days ago to extend their winning streak to three. They remain on top of the Eastern Conference, albeit by just 0.5 games.
The Knicks have been in cracking form either side of the All-Star break and currently find themselves on a five-game winning run. They’re rapidly rising up the ranks in the East and are now only three games outside the top four.
The last couple of games between these teams have been absolute shootouts, with the average total score in their last two being 244. On top of that, five of the Celtics last six games have gone over the total points mark, while each of the last six Knicks games have had 223+ points scored.
All signs lead towards another high-scoring affair on Tuesday.

Orlando Magic at New Orleans Pelicans
Smoothie King Center, 12pm AEDT
The only cross-conference battle on Tuesday will take place at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans when the Pelicans take on the Orlando Magic.
The Magic have been consistently competitive this season and have certainly performed better than expectations. They’re one of the youngest teams in the league, yet they haven’t lost more than two games in a row this year.
The Pelicans will be desperate to get back onto the winners list after suffering three straight losses to end their four-game road trip. Zion Williamson being out injured has clearly had a big impact on team success, in fact they’re six games below 500 without him this season and five games over 500 when he suits up.
While Williamson will continue to miss through injury, I do expect the Pelicans to make a better account of themselves on Tuesday. They return home where they’ve performed far better (20-10) compared to on the road (10-21). They desperately need a good result an I’ll be backing them into achieve that.
