NBA Betting Tips: Thursday March 16th 2023
Memphis Grizzlies at Miami Heat
Miami-Dade Arena, 10:30am AEDT
Both enjoying decent form in recent weeks and looking to keep the ball rolling, the Grizzlies and the Heat will meet each other in Miami on Thursday.
The Grizzlies have been able to stay afloat without Ja Morant who continues to serve his ban. They’ve won three on the spin against quality Western Conference teams, but will now face a tougher test when they head to the East Coast.
Meanwhile, the Heat are coming off a close win at home against the Jazz, which made amends for a heartbreaking overtime loss in the game prior. They’ve now won four of their last six and are starting to build some momentum.
The Grizzlies have done well without Morant to date, but it’s tough to see them getting over the line against a Heat outfit that are at near full-strength and starting to play some high-quality basketball. It’ll only be a small play, but I like the Heat to cover the spread on this occasion.
Miami Heat -3.5

Sacramento Kings at Chicago Bulls
United Center, 11am AEDT
The Sacramento Kings will be looking to bounce back from a rare loss when they hit the road to take on the Chicago Bulls in one of the more intriguing games on the slate.
The Kings put up a decent fight against one of the genuine heavyweights in the Bucks, but they simply didn’t have any answers for the Greek Freak who put up 46 points and 12 rebounds. Still, the Kings won’t be too disheartened as they’ve won eight of their last 10 games and sit pretty in third spot in the West.
The Bulls return home after a hugely successful mini two-game road trip. They saluted in Denver in their first leg, which is arguably the hardest place to win in the NBA at the moment, before taking care of the rebuilding Rockets in their second game.
Although the Bulls have shown glimpses of improvement in recent weeks, they’re still far too inconsistent to be priced as even odds in this matchup against the much-improved and highly-consistent Kings. I love the value of the Kings to bounce back with a win in Chicago.

Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Clippers
Crypto.com Arena, 1pm AEDT
Both sporting mini win streaks heading into Thursday’s matchup, the Los Angeles Clippers will host the Golden State Warriors at Crypto.com Arena.
The Warriors went 2/2 in their short homestand and have now won eight straight in front of their fans. The issue is however, they’ve also lost eight in a row on the road and currently hold the third worst road record in the NBA.
Similarly, the Clippers have won three in a row at home and have lost three on the spin away, but luckily for them they’ll do the honours of playing hosts on Thursday.
The home vs away stats tell a huge story for the Warriors this season and there have been no indications that they’ll be able to rectify things on the road. With that said, we simply must side with the Clippers at home for a couple of units.
Los Angeles Clippers -2.5
