2022-23 NBA Betting Tips: Saturday, March 25th 2023
Indiana Pacers at Boston Celtics
TD Garden, 10:00am AEDT
The Celtics are back home, after a brutal stretch of 7 road games in their past 8, as they take on the Pacers, who are close to falling out of the race for the play-in tournament. The Pacers have to play again tomorrow night, with another away game in Atlanta. The Pacers will surely be viewing that matchup as more winnable than beating the Celtics in Boston, and there’s a real chance the Celtics blow them out here on Saturday.
Speaking of Boston, they now sit just 0.5 game ahead of the 76ers in the east, and absolutely must keep winning to take control of the #2 seed in the eastern conference. Whilst the spread in this game is large (Celtics 11.5-point favourites), they are a team that can blow out an opponent, and go on with it through 4 quarters.
Whilst my numbers are smack bang on the market’s, I see the Celtics winning in blowout fashion more than any other result. I’ll take them to cover.

Phoenix Suns at Sacramento Kings
Golden 1 Center, 1:00pm AEDT
The Kings are awfully close to wrapping up the Pacific division, and a win here would put them 6 games ahead with only 9 games remaining for the Suns. The Suns have their owns reasons for winning this game, as the battle for the number 4 seed is extremely tight right now. From the Suns in 4th to the Thunder in 8th, is just a 2-game difference. Every game going forward is huge for the Suns, as they really don’t want to slip into the play-in.
The Kings are on a two-game skid, and whilst this isn’t a huge cause for concern, it’s a reason to consider fading the favourites in this contest. Yes, the Kings would love a win here, but it seems like they may be starting to take the foot off the gas ever so slightly. And against a team with as much to play for as the Suns, that could be cause for concern.
The Suns have been in poor form, losing 5 of their past 6, and this pick is nothing to do with numbers, or form, but more to do with who needs this more. It will only be a small bet, but I’m banking on the underdogs to get a much-needed win here.

Oklahoma City Thunder at Los Angeles Lakers
Crypto.com Arena, 1:30pm AEDT
The Thunder are still well in the hunt for a spot in the play-in tournament, but are they really trying to get there? They have been resting their best player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in the second game of back-to-backs for a month now, and yet despite this their form has been solid. Winners of 8 of their past 10, the Thunder are now sitting in 8th place in the west, just a game ahead of 11th placed Utah Jazz.
The Lakers, meanwhile, are barely hanging on in the battle for the play-in. They’ve won 6 of their past 9, and currently sit in 10th place in the west, clinging onto a spot in the play-in. A win here would be massive for the Lakers, as they have a winnable schedule upcoming, and a win over the Thunder helps in the tight race for a spot in the play-in.
These two teams met just over three weeks ago in OKC, with the Lakers prevailing 123-117. This was despite not having LeBron or Anthony Davis. LeBron will not be playing this game either, however Anthony Davis is a chance (questionable) to take the floor in this one. I like the Lakers to win this comfortably, with SGA presumably missing out on this back-to-back for the Thunder.
