NBA Betting Tips: Wednesday, 2nd of March
Atlanta Hawks at Boston Celtics
TD Garden, 11:30am AEDT
The Hawks have put together a strong fortnight of basketball with three wins from their last four games, including a dominant 27-point win against the Raptors at home last time out. They’re now 2/2 post All-Star break and will be looking to build on that as they make their surge up the standings in the East. The Hawks are currently in ninth spot and two games behind the Nets in eighth.
The Celtics entered the All-Star break as one of the form teams of the competition and kept that momentum going post All-Star break, before succumbing to the Pacers last time out. That loss was just their second from their last 13 games in what’s been a fantastic stretch for one of the most talented rosters. The Celtics have moved into sixth spot in the East and just 5.5 games behind first.
Both of these teams enter this clash in good form, but the Celtics have been more consistent and will start as the heavy favourites on Wednesday. However, the Hawks have had the better of them in the season series and will have a chance to clinch it 3-1 at the TD Garden. We believe they’re every chance to do just that and are happy to back them into cover the spread at the very least.
Brooklyn Nets at Toronto Raptors
Scotiabank Arena, 11:30am AEDT
The Nets managed to pull off a fantastic upset win away to the Bucks in their second game back from the All-Star break, but quickly cancelled that win out with an embarrassing 36-point defeat at home to the Raptors last time out. Yes, the Nets are heavily undermanned at the moment, but they’ve now lost 14 of their last 17 games and are becoming in danger of giving up a playoff spot.
The All-Star break came at a good time for the young Raptors who were starting to look a little fatigued in their last couple of games. They were also sluggish post break with a pair of losses against the Hornets and the Hawks, but bounced back in a big way last time out against the Nets. That win was their 33rd from 60 games this season, which is good enough for seventh spot in the East.
This will be the second meeting between these teams in as many days, although both sets of starters will be fresh after resting in the fourth quarter on Tuesday due to the massive blowout win by the Raptors. They now return home to Toronto for their turn to play hosts, which only increases their chances of winning. We expect them to get the job done very easily once again.

Dallas Mavericks at Los Angeles Lakers
Crpyto.com Arena, 2pm AEDT
The Mavericks surged back from 21 points down away to the Warriors most recently, eventually winning by eight points in what was another huge performance from superstar Luka Doncic. Him and his Mavs have been in good form since shipping off Kristaps Porzingis in a very bold move. The Mavericks are winners of seven of their last nine games and will taking part in the playoffs once again this campaign.
The Lakers season continues to go from bad to worse as the losses relentlessly stack up. They enter this clash having lost 14 of their last 20 games and only the lowly Rockets have been worse during that span. Most recently, the Lakers were embarrassed by the Pelicans via a 123-95 score line at home in a game where it looked like they were just about ready to give up.
The Mavericks are by far the form team in this matchup and are the deserving favourites in the head-to-head market despite being the visiting side. They lost their only clash against the Lakers this season in overtime, but are well poised to make amends on Wednesday night and we expect them to do just that with a comfortably victory.
