NBA Betting Tips: Tuesday, 23rd of November
Charlotte Hornets at Washington Wizards
Capital One Arena, 11pm AEDT
The Hornets won all four games of their latest homestand to move to 10-7 on the season before losing their most recent game against the Hawks on the road by 10 points. LaMelo Ball had a triple-double last game and has taken another big step forward in his second season, while Miles Bridges is the clubhouse leader for Most Improved Player.
The Wizards have been the biggest surprise packet this season and are yet to show any signs of slowing down. Most recently they overcame a big fourth quarter deficit to upset an impressive Heat outfit, which was their 11th win from 16 games. The Wizards still have Rui Hachimura and Thomas Bryant to come back at some stage during the season as well, which will add some extra firepower to an already potent offence.
The Hornets had won five straight before failing on the road against the Hawks, but four of those wins came at home (6-2) where they play far better than on the road (4-6). They now face the team with the best home record this season in the Wizards (7-1) who will be full of confidence and that should be able to see off the young Hornets and cover the spread in the process.
Washington Wizards -3.5
$1.85
Indiana Pacers at Chicago Bulls
United Center, 12pm AEDT
The Pacers surprisingly failed to make the playoffs last season and that poor form has continue into this campaign where they’re currently 7-11 and in 13th spot in the East. They were able to taste success in their most recent game against the Pelicans, which snapped a three-game losing streak, all of which came on the road against middle-of-the-pack teams.
The Bulls have been one of the most exciting teams to watch on NBA League Pass so far this season and come into this game with a 12-5 record, which leads all 15 teams in the East. Despite having such a new-look due to making a few big changes in the off-season, the Bulls have flown out of the blocks and only look to be getting better as the weeks go on.
The Bulls will be on the second night of a back-to-back when they host the Pacers on Tuesday, although both games are on their home deck so fatigue shouldn’t be an issue. They get one of the easiest matchups so far this year against the Pacers who have won only two of their 11 road games. The 3.5-point spread looks to small in our opinion, so we’re more than happy to attack it.
Phoenix Suns at San Antonio Spurs
AT&T Center, 12:30pm AEDT
The Suns are the hottest team in the league at the moment with 12 straight wins coming into this slate. They blew the Nuggets out of the park with 48 points in the first quarter of the first leg of their home back-to-back where they were never troubled. The Suns now have a 13-3 record which is the second-best mark in the NBA at the moment.
The Spurs are in a transitional phase with their franchise and will find consistent wins hard to come by this season. Dejounte Murray is proving to be a good piece to build around going forward and is enjoying a breakout season, although it’s mattered little to their win/loss column where they currently sit at 4-11, which is the third worst in the West.
The Suns are full to the brim with confidence at the moment and have their sights set on chasing down their franchise record for consecutive wins, which stands at 17. The Spurs have been fast starters in a lot of their games this season and will be looking to get the jump on the Suns, but we still see the travelling side getting the win and covering the spread.
