NBA Betting Tips: Tuesday, 15th of February
Sacramento Kings at Brooklyn Nets
Barclays Center, 11:30am AEDT
Hoping that their recent roster shakeup will be the answer to some of their problems, the Kings will be eyeing off a rare three-game win streak when they travel to Brooklyn on Tuesday. All-Star Domantas Sabonis has made a strong start to his life as a King, averaging 19/13/6 across two games on very good efficiency. He has helped the Kings improve to 22-36 on the season, which is still only good enough for 13th in the West.
The Nets were at the top of the championship market only a few weeks ago, yet they now face the very real possibility of missing the playoffs entirely. Not only did they recently trade one of their big three in James Harden, but they also continue to deal with injuries to Kevin Durant, and will only have Kyrie Irving for eight of their final 26 games. On top of all of that, the Nets enter this slate on a whopping 11-game losing streak.
No one could’ve possibly seen this Nets debacle coming, or at least the extent of it. So bad has their form be in 2022 that they’re starting as the underdogs on their home deck against one of the worst teams in the competition in the Kings. Funnily enough, we tend to agree with the bookies here and are expecting the Kings to add insult to injury and deal the Nets yet another loss.

Toronto Raptors at New Orleans Pelicans
Smoothie King Center, 12pm AEDT
Continuing to defy the odds and make a push towards an unlikely playoff berth, the Raptors enter this slate as one of the form teams of the competition despite coming up short against the Nuggets in their most recent outing. Their one-point loss against the Joker and co. snapped an impressive eight-game win streak, five of which came on the road. This stretch has seen the Raptors rise to 31-24 and seventh in the East.
In contrast to their upcoming opponents, the Pelicans have found wins hard to come by this season, but they have enjoyed a little bit more success of late, saluting in four of their last six games. Most recently, however, the Pelicans gave up 124 points on their home deck against the Spurs, which was the most they’ve had scored against them since the beginning of January. The Pelicans are now 22-34 on the season and look set for another season without playoff basketball.
This will be the second and final meeting between these teams this season and it will be the Raptors who have the chance to sweep the Pelicans 2-0. They got the better of them over four weeks ago in Toronto and have only gotten better since then, which is why they will start Tuesday’s clash as the firm favorite. We still believe there is some meat on the bone in the line market and are keen to back the Raptors into cover it.

Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Clippers
Crypto.com Arena, 2:30pm AEDT
The Warriors needed a hero to get over the line against the Lakers in their most recent outing and up stepped Klay Thompson. The Splash Bro looked back to his best with 33 points in 30 minutes of action to continue his successful road back from injury. That win snapped a mini two-game losing streak the Warriors had cooked up, which has seen them slip to 4.5 games behind the Suns in the West.
The Clippers shook things up a touch at the Trade Deadline in hope of bringing in some more depth at the wing positions. They brought in the likes of Norman Powell and Robert Covington and didn’t have to give up a whole lot themselves. The Clippers continue to play without their two superstars in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, but still managed to secure an unlikely victory away to the Mavericks last time out.
These teams have already met each other twice this season, with both matchups coming in the first couple of weeks of play. The Warriors won on both occasions, once at home and once in LA, but they were in far better form leading into those wins. They’ve been less than convincing over their last four games and although they are still the deserving favourites in this clash, the Clippers line looks to be at least a couple of points too high.
