NBA Betting Tips: Saturday, 6th of November
San Antonio Spurs at Orlando Magic
Amway Center, 10am AEDT
The Spurs had one of the tougher draws to start the season and what’s stemmed from that has been some pretty ordinary results. After thumping the lowly Magic by 26 points in their opening game, the Spurs have since gone onto lose six of their last seven outings and now hold a 2-6 record. Coach Popovich has looked visibly frustrated in their recent games, so a change to some of their rotations might be coming.
The Magic entered the season with the youngest roster in the league and the inconsistencies that usually come with that have been prevalent early on. They’ve already lost four games by 13+ points and managed to score just 79 last time out in their home loss against the Celtics. It's certainly been a tough start for the Magic, but they're clearly in a full rebuild mode.
Neither team would be happy with how they’ve started their respective campaigns, however, the Spurs certainly have the more upside of the two. Five of their six losses to date have come against playoff teams from a season ago and they’ve managed to stay competitive in most of those. They now find themselves with a very winnable matchup on their hands and we expect them to make the most of it.

Los Angeles Clippers at Minnesota Timberwolves
Target Center, 11am AEDT
The Clippers were one of the most disappointing teams in the league in the first fortnight of action, but look to be settling in on the back of some strong wins against the Thunder and the Timberwolves in their last two outings. Their most recent game against the Timberwolves was the best they’ve looked offensively so far as they piled on 126 points on the road.
The Timberwolves made an extremely promising start to their campaign with wins three of their first four games, including a 113-108 away victory over the defending champion Bucks; however, they’ve come back down to earth since that win with three losses in a row, all of which have been on their home deck.
It’s expected that Timberwolves star point guard D’Angelo Russell will miss his team’s clash with the Clippers once again on Saturday. Without him they look really poor on offence and that puts a lot of pressure on their defence, which the Clippers were able to take advantage of last time out. We expect more of the same this time around.
Los Angeles Clippers -2.5

New Orleans Pelicans at Golden State Warriors
Chase Center, 1pm AEDT
The Pelicans have been by far the most disappointing team this season and come into this weekend with just one win to their name against eight losses. Zion Williamson’s absence is clearly hurting his side and it looks like they’ll be without him for a while yet. In better news, Brandon Ingram is a chance to return from a niggling injury.
The Warriors are enjoying a bounce back season after missing the playoffs in their past two campaigns. Still without superstar Klay Thompson, the Warriors have been able to win six of their first seven games this season, with their sole loss coming in overtime three starts back against the Grizzlies.
The undermanned Pelicans have been able to put up a decent fight for three quarters in their recent games, but when teams have ramped up their defence in the fourth quarter they’ve simply collapsed. Now travelling to face arguably the most in-form team in the league, we’re expecting another really tough night for the Pelicans.
