2020-21 NBA Finals Betting Tips: Game 6
Phoenix Suns at Milwaukee Bucks
Fiserv Forum, Wednesday 11am AEST
The Milwaukee Bucks put one hand on the Larry O’Brien trophy with a crucial win on the road in Game 5, giving themselves the chance to close out the Championship at home on Wednesday. It was the highest scoring game of the Finals so far with 242 points scored in the Bucks 123-119 win. Both teams were shooting the lights out from three, combining for 27/47 (57.4%) from deep, but in the end it was the timely plays from the Bucks stars that proved to be the difference.
In Game 5 it was Devin Booker who led the Suns in scoring once again, posting his second straight game with 40 or more points while shooting above 50% from the field. Chris Paul and DeAndre Ayton were also good on offence with the pair each recording 20-point double-doubles. For the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo continued his quest for Finals MVP with another huge 32/9/6 line, while Jrue Holiday (27 points, 13 assists) and Khris Middleton (29 points) also had fantastic outings.
Looking ahead to Game 6 on Wednesday and there are some ominous signs for the Suns who obviously have to win to avoid losing the series. Not only have the Bucks won both games on their home deck in the Finals, they’ve also won 17 of their last 18 in Milwaukee, including 9/10 in the playoffs.
It’s tough to make a case for the Suns in Game 6 considering how great the Bucks have been at home in the playoffs, however, close-out games have a funny knack of throwing up bizarre results. With that said, we’ll be steering clear of the head-to-head and game spread markets, instead looking at the total points market, which we expect to go under. Both games in Milwaukee in this series (Games 3 & 4) went under the current total of 221.5 and with nerves at an all-time high and defences as scrappy as ever, we expect another lower-scoring game that should fall at least 5-10 points below the current total in the market.
Same Game Multi
It’s been tough to find consistent performers in the player prop markets, but in such a pivotal game on Wednesday we expect the big names to take control of the contest. For the first of our three-leg Same Game Multi we’ll be taking Khris Middleton to score 25+ points. Middleton has come alive in the last two games by averaging 34.5 points on 28 shots and always excels playing at home. For the second leg we’ll be on Chris Paul for 20 or more points, simply because we expect him to leave it all out there in the biggest game of his career. Finally, we’ll be including Giannis Antetokounmpo to collect 12+ rebounds, which he’s done in nine of his last 10 games at home.
- Khris Middleton 25+ Points
- Chris Paul 20+ Points
- Giannis Antetokounmpo 12+ Rebounds
