2020-21 NBA Finals Betting Tips: Game 5
Milwaukee Bucks at Phoenix Suns
PHX Arena, Sunday 11am AEST
Game 4 of the NBA Finals was the most intense game of the series to date with both teams having a chance to win right up until the final couple of seconds. Eventually it was the home team in the Bucks getting the job done and levelling the series up at 2-2, with both teams taking care of home court through four games. Interestingly, the 109-103 win to the Bucks last time out was the first game that has been decided by less than 10 points in this series.
The Suns did a lot of things right in their recent Game 4 loss, but just weren’t able to make enough winning plays down the stretch. Devin Booker was absolutely lights out by shooting 17-28 (61%) on his way to 42 points, but Chris Paul (10 points, five turnovers) easily had his worst performance in these finals and cost his team the win in the end.
The Bucks weren’t necessarily at their best shooting the ball in Game 4, particularly from three-point range where they hit on just seven of their 29 attempts (24%), but their hustle on the offensive rebounds and willingness to attack the paint ended up being enough to get the win. Khris Middleton was the star of the show with 40 points on 15-33 shooting and Giannis Antetokounmpo had another great stat line (26/14/8).
The home side has won by 6+ points in all four games in this series, so it’s no surprise to see the Suns as the clear favourites to win this crucial Game 5 in Phoenix on Sunday. They were dominant at home during the regular season and that’s translated to the playoffs where they’ve dropped just two games in front of their fans. We expect more of the same on Sunday and are happy to be with the Suns to cover the spread and go up 3-2 in the series.
Same Game Multi
We’re back with our three-leg Same Game Multi for Game 5 where there are plenty of value player props. For the first leg we’ll be on Chris Paul to bounce back from a really poor Game 4 to score at least 20 points on Sunday. Secondly, we’ll be taking Khris Middleton to score 20+ points, which is only half of what he managed in Game 4 where he scored 40 points on 33 shots. Finally, we’ll be including Suns big man DeAndre Ayton to grab at least 12 rebounds. The former #1 pick is averaging 14 rebounds per game through four NBA Finals games and should be able to put up a similar number again in this one.
- Chris Paul 20+ Points
- Khris Middleton 20+ Points
- DeAndre Ayton 12+ Rebounds
